PODCAST SCRIPT

Good day, fellow listeners! Welcome to The Perfect Pod, the show that discusses with
you what you need to know the most. I’m ___________, and today we will be talking about the
dying economy of our beloved country amidst this pandemic. Could we have done better to
counter the virus? Were we able to give our best shot? We also have a surprise guest for you
next week that will be posted in our Facebook page, so make sure to stay on the line to not miss
any of the details.

Many institutions have been put on hold as the world keeps fighting the coronavirus
crisis. Business industries have been halted, travel has been constrained, and operation
of education has been suspended. It is transforming the entire globe as it created various
restrictions. Naturally, governments must devise strategies to ensure that students continue to
learn despite the pandemic.

During times of crisis, the most serious weaknesses in any system become apparent.
COVID-19 revealed which institutions and establishments were flexible and prepared in the
event of an emergency, and which were not. People cannot meet in groups for any reason,
including lectures, in the majority of the countries around the world. Business owners lose a lot
of money as a result of having to adjust to new circumstances. Students are also unhappy
because their classes are not being eliminated, but rather replaced by online instruction.

We have undergone various community quarantines and health protocols in the past in
hopes of combatting the virus. After some time, it has been modified to alert levels. The
stringent safety protocols were loosened for a while, seemingly there’s no pandemic already. A
day after hitting a record-high tally, the Philippines logs its highest single-day rise in the new
COVID-19 cases at 28,707 on Sunday via Philippine Star. Does this figure, today, speak for the
government’s behalf? This just shows that the government truthfully lacks critical planning and
analysis of the new protocols and ordinances that they sought to implement. We can never end
the pandemic if this kind of cycle continues. We must act the quickest time possible before it’s
too late. Time is running and many opportunities are being missed from day to day.

To my fellow youth, let us never be afraid to speak up. We will be the heirs of our
motherland and so we need to do something. Let our voices be heard!

Since we are all suffering from this pandemic, may we always choose kindness because
we will never know what someone might be going through. During these trying times, let us
always choose to give what we can and what we have, specially to those who are in need. All of
these shall pass too soon.
