us, its separated on existential and categorical, existential es most basic form of self-concept and
its about have the sense of being separate and distinct from others objects and recognize our self
as individual and unique object with characteristics and that definition of our-self it is constant,
moving on that, having a clear idea of existential we can categorize this existence in different
aspects as skills, age, gender, size. Is a comparison from others in the way to identify how we are
and what is what represent us.
Define the difference between self-image, self-esteem and ideal self: the self-image is the view of
what we have of us, the self-esteem is like the love we have to us, how much we appreciate our
self, in the way that we know what we deserve and how much we cost and the last one Is the
ideal self is the idea of what we would like to be, like in a future or a concept of the best version
of us.

reasons.
heterosexual etc…
• Gender identity It’s how do you feel or with what you feel identify

• National/regional Its can be like love of how you feel part of nation,
3. After watching the TED talk, please write your main takeaway about how identities can be
constructed socially:
The social construction of identity is a kind of relative and absolutive truth, because as its say in
the TED, you construct your identity by experience with others, like you know how you react to a
specific situation because you have already lived in a past, this it’s true, you construct your
identity, your form of be based on your relation and experiences in the world, you took what you
like from others and you apply that on you, but in my opinion there a one more fact that affects
the construction of identity, there is the suffering, suffering make us change, some time is like
mandatory, you have no option and when you notice that you change its already part of your
identity, so to finish cording to the TED the social construction of identity is based on the
interaction of a person with his around and how this with the time pass. Form a person unite
that is recognize as that when she or he repeat one and ones this characteristics that represent
their self
