Enumerate the classification of fires. Briefly discuss each.

1. Class A- Contains combustible materials such as paper, wood, cardboard, and most plastics.
2. Class B- A flammable liquids that is properties are gasoline, kerosene, oil and grease,
3. Class C- Composes electrical equipment’s.
4. Class D- Found in chemical laboratories (magnesium, potassium, sodium and titanium)

What should be done if a chemical gets in the eye?

- The first thing to do is carefully wash your eye with the emergency eyewash. After washing it off, cover
your eyes with goggles to keep the chemical from getting in them again.

Describe the procedure used to operate a fire extinguisher

-First is pull the pin to unlock the extinguisher, second is aim at the base of the fire at least 6 ft away,
third is squeeze the handle or lever to discharge the agent and lastly sweep from side to side or from left
to right until the flames are totally extinguished.

Describe the procedure for smelling a chemical.

- Don't put your nose over the bottle, instead, cup your hand over it and waft it while you sniff it. In
order to prevent entirely inhaling the chemical, do not totally smell it.
