Rightfully Right

Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. It is fitting that at this solemn moment we take the pledge of dedication to the service of India and her people and to the still larger cause of humanity. Scene I: A side of Stage: Sardaar: Ab waqt aa gya hai. Hamaari jeet najdeek hai. Hamne jo apni hukumat ka sapna dekha tha wo sach hone wala hai.

Sukhiya: Lekin sardaar Police bahut chokanni hai aajkal aur agar Police ko thodi bhi bhanak lagi to hum sab khatam.

Sardaar: Khatam to hum sab paida hone se pahle hi ho gye the Sukhiya aur aise jeene se to maut hi achchi hai. Iss desh ne hame apna samjha hi kab tha.

Mohan: Lekin sardaar ek baar sahi se soch le. Aaj desh bahut tarakki kar raha hai aur waise bhi jo naya officer aaya hai wo sabke bhale ki hi baat karta hai, hum aise agar hamla karenge to

Sardaar: To kuch nahi. Faisla ho chuka hai. Hum apni hukumat banakar hi dum lenge. Hamara koi adhikaar koi hissa diya hai sarkaar ne aaj tak. Ab waqt maangne ka nahi chhinne ka hai.

B side of Stage:

Neta: 10 saalo se humne iss Rajya ki sarkaar ko sambhala hai. Jitna achche se hum iss Rahya ko jante hain, koi nahi jaanta.

Shyam: Wo to thik hai neta ji. Lekin iss Rajya ne picchle 10 saalo me koi tarakki nahi ki hai. Aaj bhi gaanv me bijli nahi hai, sadkein nahi hia aur maa bahne ghar se nikalane me darti hai.

Neta: Cheejo ko badalane me waqt lagta hai. Iss baar hum satta me aaye to sab kuch sahi ho jayega. Isiliye aap sab logo se nivedan hai ki vote hame hi dein. (Neta ke log logo ko note ke liye paisa dene lagta hain) Amit: Nahi mujhe nahi chaiye paise mujhe vote daalna hai.

Raghav: Arre kya milega tujhe vote daalkar haan. Ye 200 rupees bhi haath se chale jayenge. Chal paise pakad aur apni beewi ko lekar waapis jaa. Ye vote wagaraan hum log daal lenge.

Shyam: Nahi aisa nahi hoga. Hume apna vote khud daalna hai. Raghav: (Collected 3 bullies and beat voter 2). Chal re isse bhi paise de aur rafadafa kar.

Voter 3: shouts from the public, mujhe polling booth par jana hai aur vote daalna hai. Rajesh: Main dekhta hu tu kaisa jayega booth tak. (Rajesh beats voter 2) Dhiru: Bahut prajatanra chadha hai aaj sabko. Arre Raghav sambhaal re inhe, desh ka bhavishya bigadenge vote daalkar. Freedom and power bring responsibility. The responsibility rests upon this a sovereign body representing the sovereign people of India. The service of India means the service of the millions who suffer. It means the ending of poverty and ignorance and disease and inequality of opportunity. The ambition of the greatest man of our generation has been to wipe every tear from every eye. That may be beyond us, but as long as there are tears and suffering, so long our work will not be over.

Scene II:

A side of Stage: Officer: Mujhe yahaan kyu bulaya hai Sardaar Nattha Singh. Sardaar: Arre tum sala hamare logo ko kya sikhaya hai Officer: Maine kuch nahi seekhaya Nattha. Sardaar: Sardaar Nattha Singh. Ye sab surrender kaahe karma chahte hain. Arre tum nahi sikhaye to kaun sikhaya. Arre Mohan, bata tanik. Kya kaha tha tu hamse. Desh bahut tarakki kar raha hai. Arre tarakki to neta aur ye officer kar rahe hain. Hum jaise log to aaj bhi wahin hai. Bhookhe aur gareeb. Officer: Sahi to kah raha hain ye log. Humne upar baat ki hai. Aap log surrender kar do. Bina kisi iljaam ke apne ghar me jakar raho aur desh ke saath chalo. Sardaar: Darr gya kya officer. Haan Lagta hai darr gya. Officer: Dara nahi aap sabka bhala soch raha hu. Mera kya hai, kabhi bhi transfer ho sakta hai par aap log. Kinte saalo se ye ladai lad raheho, kya mila. Main kahta hue k baar hathiyaar chhodkar, desh ke saath chalo. Sabko sookh aur samraddhi milegi.

Sardaar: Chal nikla ab bahut ho gya bhasand. (Sardaar discussed among his members, decided to surrender)

B side of Stage: Neta 2: Vote ki takat ko samjhate hain aap. Iss desh mein ye sabse khaas baat hia ki chahe pradhaan mantra ho ya ek kissaan, sabke vote ki mahatta barabar hai. Itne saalo se aapke adhikaaro ko duruprayog hota raha aur aap sunte rahe. Ab ek joot hokar khade ho jaiye aur desh ke liye, apne liye vote dijiye. Voter1: Lekin hame vote daalne hi kaun deta hai. Log aakar hamare vote khud hi daal lete hian.

Neta 2: Aap hazaaro laakho hian aur wo chand log. Agar aap ek joot ho jaaye to iss rajya ki kaya palat ho jaye. Meri sabse vinti hai ki apne vote ki takat ko pehchaano aur uska sahi prayog karo.

Voters: Iss baar hum apna vote khud hi daalenge

(Note: Voters pummel goons in booths and vote themselves.) It is a fateful moment for us in India. A new star rises, the star of freedom in the east, a new hope comes into being, a vision long cherished materialises. May the star never set and that hope never be betrayed! The future beckons to us. Whither do we go and what shall be our endeavour? To bring freedom and opportunity to the common man, to the peasants and workers of India; to fight and end poverty and ignorance and disease; to build up a prosperous, democratic and progressive nation, and to create social, economic and political institutions which will ensure justice and fullness of life to every man and woman. Scene III: A side of Stage:

Sardaar: Tumhari baat sahi lagi hame officer aur tum aadmi bhi sachche lage. Humne bahut sochne ke baad faisal kiya hai ki ab desh se kandha milakar challenge.

Officer: Nattha, Sorry, Sardaar Nattha Singh, Issi me hum sabki aur desh ki bhalai hai. Hathiyaar uthaane se kisi ko kuch nahi milta, Gandhi ji ne bhi ye hi path sikhaya tha. Sardaar: Haan Officer, ab hum apne saare adhikaro ka sahi se prayog karenge aur desh ke liye apna poora yogdaan denge.

Officer: Aaj mere jeevan ka mission poora hi gya Sardaar Nattha. Agar hamare desh ke saare log ek joot hokar kaam karein to ham duniya ka sabse achcha desh ban sakte hain.

B side of Stage: Neta 2 wins election. Neta 2: Aaj aapke gaanv me bijli hai, sadkein hai, har naagrik surakshit hai aur hamara rajya desh me sabse tej gati se tarakki kar raha hai. Ye sab aapke vote ki hi takat hai. Agar har bhartiya apne adhikaaro ko sahi tareeke se samjhe aur prayog kare to hum sab appne sapno ke bharat ka nirmaan kar payenge. (Desh mera desh mera, Bhagat Singh) We are citizens of a great country and we have to live up to that high standard. All of us, to whatever religion we may belong, are equally the children of India with equal rights, privileges and obligations. And to India, our much-loved motherland, the ancient, the eternal and the ever-new, we pay our reverent homage and we bind ourselves afresh to her service. Jai Hind
