When people travel a long distance they usually travel by airplane. Travelling by
air is exciting, fast, comfortable, relatively safe but rather expensive. By the
21th century it ________ become one of the most important means of
transport. It takes only ______ few hours by plane to get from one part of the
world to the other.

When people choose to travel by plane they usually book their tickets online. At
the airport the passengers travelling with international or intercontinental
airlines have to show their flight tickets and passports. The official weight of

through the customs clearance. Then they can go to the departure lounge. In the
plane the stewardess shows them their seats. _________ their flight they can

Travelling by train is a common form of travelling. In our country trains are


used daily by many people to and from work or school. They are cheap, less
polluting, safe, usually ______ too crowded. Fast trains are more comfortable
for longer distances as they do not stop at every station.

Coaches are busses for long distance travelling. They are fast, comfortable and
the prices of tickets are quite reasonable. On workdays they are crowded during
the rush hours, especially ________ school finishes and students want to travel
home.

Nowadays most people have their own cars. Travelling by car is convenient and
quite fast, you can choose who ________ travel with and it’s comfortable that
you can leave and stop whenever and wherever you want. ______ the other side
it’s quite expensive to maintain a car and petrol costs a lot of money as well. We

Sustainable transport

There is an urgent need for eliminating gridlocks, traffic jams is bigger cities,
so that passengers can get form one point to the other place safely and
relatively fast. 

First and foremost, using public transport helps your city become a better place
by reducing traffic congestions and the overall level of pollution. Most traffic
congestions can be attributed to the overuse of cars for privacy and comfort,
and at the same they keep complaining about traffic jams. 

There are different ways for cities to help reduce traffic congestions. 

Cities should:  

 promote the idea of car-sharing, which means that more people can use
the same / fewer cars 
 in some cities park-and ride place encourage people to leave their cars
outside the city centre and continue their journey by public transport
 establishing bike-share stations and building cycling lanes encourage
people to use their bikes

To avoid air pollution, buses and other vehicles are gradually replaced by electric
ones. 

Cycling and walking can also improve your personal health as well.

There’s no perfect solution there are some steps that must be taken to ensure
that people can travel fast and safely.
