TPACK: Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Framework.

As an
Approach in Enhancing Students Learning Experience

As the world shifts towards a global knowledge economy, education is the

gateway through which this is set to be achieved, the quality of education, is
assessed through the backdrop of technology integration for enhanced
performance and achievement.-Nelson Masese
Technology in the classroom provides teachers with more tools to Support
students. In addition to resources like textbooks and worksheets, technology
equips educators with various tools to help students develop a better
understanding of the lesson.
Punya Mishra and Matthew J. Koehler’s 2006 TPACK framework, which
focuses on technological knowledge (TK), pedagogical knowledge (PK), and
content knowledge (CK), offers a productive approach to many of the
dilemmas that teachers face in implementing educational technology (edtech)
in their classrooms. By differentiating among these three types of knowledge,
the TPACK framework outlines how content (what is being taught) and
pedagogy (how the teacher imparts that content) must form the foundation for
any effective edtech integration. This order is important because the
technology being implemented must communicate the content and support
the pedagogy in order to enhance students’ learning experience.
with present understanding of the use of TPACK, it will pave the way for
teachers to engage students in collaborative learning and to develop the
concept of digital pedagogies. Digital pedagogies may be the concept that can
encompass all: teaching approach, students’ attitudes, and desired learning
outcomes.
