Reading is indispensable requisite skill of every learner and serves as a basic


building block for learning, in any of the school subject, be it language arts or
even math. In everyday life, the need to read things such as street signs or
prescriptions proves reading is also an important life skills. Reading
Strengthens the Brain and improve memory. A child's reading skills are pivotal
to their achievement in school as they will allow them to access the breadth of
the curriculum and enhance their communication and language skills.

Challenges brought about the devastating effect of pandemic in our
educational system cannot be emphasized more as data all coming out now

learners is one of the major concern among educators as one of the negative
impact of the pandemic. Addressing this appalling impact is a must and
educators must rush into aiding the problem.
Intensifying reading skills and creating more assistance and support in
this area for teacher calls for drastic action. The pressure of catching up with
learning loss can be detrimental for learners and teachers. Therefore,
regrouping and taking stock of the learning gaps and strategy must be
effectively put in place. Normal teaching-learning processes must focus on
bridging the learning gaps on reading skills. Teachers must be empowered to
take up the challenge of teaching in post-Covid times by organizing training
programs to support teachers pedagogically on different teaching strategies
on enhancing reading skills among learners.
