ORIGIN: Hungary
COLOR: Blonde, Swallow-belied and Red.
BODY SIZE: 120 cm to 140 cm
STANDARD WEIGHT FEMALE & MALE: 64 and 73 kg & 68 to 77 kg
DISTINGUISH FACTORS: Fat
ECONOMIC VALUE: Source of vitamins and minerals, such as different
B vitamins, vitamin D, zinc, iron, phosphorus, and
magnesium.

REASON WHY THIS BREED STILL EXIST According to its history, this breed still exists
because it was considered as a lard pig and was
highly prized. It took a lot of time and energy to
raise them, but their super-light, easily melting
lard was well worth it. Hungarian geneticist
stepped in to save these special creatures.

interbreeding, and they are a good pork source.
Also, according to FAO, the pot-bellied pig is a
historic Vietnamese domestic breed that is in
danger of extinction.

COLOR: Black with white blotches/brown with grey blotches
BODY SIZE: Medium sized pig
STANDARD WEIGHT FEMALE AND MALE: 114 kg and 123 kg
DISTINGUISH FACTOR: hairy, short tails, short snouts, medium-sized erect
ears, dish-faced head
ECONOMIC VALUE:  contributes to poverty alleviation, as a
protein source.

REASON WHY THIS BREED STILL EXIST Kolbroek pigs are known for being popular in local
pig breeders because, It forms part of national
assets, which are being conserved to maintain the
breed genetically pure. It contributes to poverty
alleviation, as a protein source and a South African
indigenous pig breed that have valuable traits, like
longevity, disease tolerance and adaptability to
harsh environmental conditions in addition to its
contributions to food security. They also have been
recommended as good alternative sources of protein
that can provide additional income especially for
local rural farmers.

Color Black
Body size Medium size head, straight, long, big face, dropping ears
Standard weight (female/male) 50 to 350 both

Economic value As a result, the number of breeders and pigs that have been
tested have shown a decreasing tendency. All these issues
necessitate the breeding of profitable sows with excellent
reproductive performance that produce offspring with high
growth potential and good carcass quality.

characteristics of that because the favorable weather
conditions such as cold weather. And because of its thick
skin it could live for a long time in cold weather.
LARGE BLACK PIG

CHARACTERISTICS

ORIGIN: United Kingdom


COLOR: Entirely black
BODY SIZE: Large
STANDTARD WEIGHT FEMALE AND MALE: 320 to 360 kg and 270 to 320 kg.
DISTINGUISH FACTORS: Lop Ears and Long, Deep Body
ECONOMIC VALUE:  mainly used for meat production, especially
bacon.
 Meat, good flavor, and lean quality without an
excess of black fat.
