Why did this specific volleyball player inspired you the most to learn volleyball?

Wang Yanan

It's been almost ten years since I've played volleyball. I first became a player in fifth
grade during our intramurals, and I haven't played since because my wrist became swollen. As a
result, I've limited myself to watching volleyball on television and the internet. Para-volleyball,
on the other hand, has piqued my interest. This is when the well-known Wang Yanan began to
influence me. We don't often hear the term "sitting volleyball," but it's a type of volleyball
designed specifically for athletes with disabilities. Sitting volleyball players, unlike standing
volleyball players, must have at least one buttock in contact with the floor at all times during the
game.

After a car accident in 2008, Wang Yanan lost one of her legs. She had lost her faith in
life and was on the verge of giving up when she discovered sitting volleyball. In order to become
a professional athlete, Wang began learning sitting volleyball at the Shanghai Rehabilitation and
Vocational Training Center for the Disabled. In only two years, she went from a rookie to a
member of the national team, which is what inspires me to learn volleyball. What's to stop me
from learning the sport myself if someone with a disability can do it with a prosthesis?
