1. While watching the videos, how do you find spikeball?

Among all sports I know, I have only played a few and most are ball games. I
already played volleyball, basketball, badminton, long jump, track and field, and touch ball.
Among all of these games, I am mostly happy with basketball, probably because it enables
the players to actively use their body while playing the game. If given the chance, I think
spikeball could have been one of my favorites. As I watched the videos uploaded online, it is
proven that the sport is not only about passing the ball, there is equal perseverance and
athleticism to score a point just like in basketball and volleyball. The sport is interesting
because it uses the whole body in playing it, the players should actively sustain the
momentum of the game to score a point and avoid the opposing team from scoring. Aside
from that, the partners or the duo playing the sport as teammates could build a strong
relationship that is built on wise tactics and trust while playing the game. Overall, the
athleticism of the sport is not only shown surrounding the net, but the movement and
perseverance of the players to jump, dive, run, pass, and spike the ball even from a long
distance and different directions.

2. If you will be given a chance to play spikeball, do you think you will enjoy the game or
are you afraid to try?

As I have said in the statements above, the sport could be one of my favorites. I
have been into sports since I was a kid, and the most enjoyable ones are those that are
played with teams or partners. Badminton is a lot better when it is not single - played, same
as spikeball, the teamwork between partners made the sport even more interesting. At first,
due to lack of skills and unfamiliarity to the sport, I might be afraid to try, but as soon as I
learn how to play the sport actively including different tactics in passing and scoring, I would
certainly enjoy the game. As an athlete by heart, I should not be confined or boxed with
limited sports, I should explore other games that could make me challenged and excited,
same as how I have been attached to my homesport which is basketball. Spikeball is one
of those sports that I would love to try, and for sure, I would also be attached and interested
in playing it, certainly because it involves wise strategies, a teammate, adrenaline rush,
close contact rally, and an active whole body skill.

“A good health is based on a reasonable physical exercise, so sport is truly important for
our human life”

Among the three (3) statements, this one caught my attention, not because it is the most
accurate, but because it is the closest to my perspective. Sport plays a great role in my life, I
cannot accurately depict if it is the reason, the process, or the result; but sports have contributed
much to why I am the person who I am today. When I was a kid, basketball has taught and
helped me with many things. It was the reason why I enjoy team sports and why I prefer sports
which actively use body strength. As it became one of my reasons, it is also the result of my
perseverance to learn. I have learned basketball because I deeply want to have friends and
cousins to play. Growing up, I did not have many girls of my age to play, thus, I grew up with my
boy playmates. The reason why I am citing my childhood is to prove that sport is not only an
extension of reasonable physical exercise. Yes, it is certain that most athletes have physically fit
body physique, this is for the reason that frequent and heavy movements lead them to a well -
defined body.

Sports are beyond the healthy physical body. I can say this, for I can attest how it helped
me with my social, emotional, spiritual, and physical strength. The enhanced physical
satisfaction of sport is not achieved alone, especially with team sports, there is also social
interaction, emotional health development, and spiritual growth. Sports have helped me gain
friends. The last La Sallian Cup, I have gained team mates that until now are friends whom I talk
to. The experiences that we had while training together are also the foundation of our good
friendship. This experience has helped me with my social and emotional health. Another benefit
of sport is it also serves as an outlet of communicating with God. It is certain that I have put
great trust and hope to God due to my academic endeavors, the requirements in school,
particularly the accountancy program, has made me spend extra time talking to Him. I have
entrusted my college journey to the Lord, it is not easy to surpass this, but everything will be
worth it in His time. Sports have released the stress that builds inside me due to school
requirements, and every time I am able to play - I also do my best just like how I exerted effort in
the classroom. I pray and practice at the same time to be the better athlete I have asked for.
Sports strengthened my spiritual devotion the same as how I want to succeed in my chosen
program. Behind every successful game are our practices and deep prayers that all our hard
work will pay off. In everything I do, God plays the center role.

With the situations I have mentioned, I can say that sports is not solely a reason for
having reasonable physical exercise. Yes, it is one of the ways, but above else, sports have
made me a good person living a better life.
