UNIT 4 : VOLUNTEER WORK


LESSON 1: READING

I. Objectives:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson Students will be able to:

-Develop such reading micro-skills as scanning for specific ideas,


skimming for general information.
-Use the information they have read to discuss the topic.
- Help students learn more about the volunteer activities of countries
around the world. For students to realize the goodness of volunteering, an
activity that brings happiness to others.
2. Skills
- Reading: Reading for general idea and specific information and
identifying different opinions about volunteer work
- Scan for specific information in passage and skim for general ideas
about it to sum up the topic of the whole unit.
3.Educational aims
- To equip citizens with knowledge about volunteering activities
- Ensure students consolidate what they have learned and develop skills
such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Have conditions to promote individual capacity, express their own
views, encourage teamwork activities.
