This assignment is mandatory for all students who are taking Honors American

Literature and will count as part of a major project grade for all students.

pre-course assignment. You may choose from any level. The level clarifications

Read your selection carefully and thoroughly, then complete the following
assignment. This assignment must be completed in its entirety and submitted
by AUGUST 15. Please make sure to follow the grading rubric. This assignment

counts as 50% of a major grade.

These historical fiction novels are
relatively short and use simple Cast Two Shadows by Ann Rinaldi
vocabulary and stylistic elements.

Split the book into 10 even sections (amount of sections will differ based on
chosen book). Make sure that you are signed into your Gmail account. You will
be required to have a Gmail account for this course, so if you do not have one,
please create one now.

Within this Slides Presentation, go to “File” and “Make a Copy” to create your
own editable presentation. Edit directly in your copy of this presentation,
adding the required elements to each slide/section. Each section should contain
the following elements:

1. a postcard, reflecting the events within the sections, written from the
point of view of one character to another (5-7 sentences).

3. a statement that makes a claim about the characterization of a specific
character in the section.
4. a quote, with proper MLA parenthetical citation, that serves as evidence
