D. Wriite a short essay on Rizal’s visit to Japan. Limit your answer on a single page. (10 Points)

Rizal's vacation in the Land of the Cherry Blossoms was one of the happiest times of his life.
From February 28 to April 13, 1888, he spent one month and a half in Japan. He was enchanted
by Japan's natural beauty, the Japanese people's manners, and the lovely temples. He also fell
in love with a Japanese girl, whose beauty filled his heart with joy and passion. Rizal landed in
Yokohama on February 28, 1888, and stayed at the Grand Hotel. He flew to Tokyo the next day
and stayed at the Tokyo Hotel from March 2 to 7. The city of Tokyo left an impression on him.
Rizal paid Juan Perez Caballero, secretary of the Spanish Legation, a call after his arrival in
Tokyo. He was invited to stay at the Spanish Legation by the latter. Rizal was aware that this
was a tactic used by the Spanish government to keep tabs on him, but he agreed regardless. He
moved out of the Tokyo Hotel on March 7 and into the Spanish Legation. He became good
friends with Perez Caballero, describing him as a youthful, fine, and brilliant writer. Rizal was
able to communicate in Japanese on his first day in Tokyo. He struggled to shop since he
couldn't communicate and was mocked by children. As a result of his circumstances, Rizal opted
to learn Japanese. Within a few days, he was able to communicate. He studied Japanese drama,
art, music, and judo in Japan. Museums, libraries, art galleries, and temples were among the
places he visited. He traveled to Japan's lovely villages, including Meguro, Nikko, Hakone,
Miyanoshita, and others. Rizal went to the park one day and overheard the Tokyo band
performing a Strauss classical work. He was wowed by the outstanding performances of
Western music. He reflected on how excellent their performances were and wondered how
they had assimilated current European music to the point where they could play the exquisite
masterpieces of European composers so beautifully. Much to his amazement, the band came to
a halt and began conversing.
