This document outlines the methodology for a research study on the effects of chronic sleep deprivation on senior high school students. It describes the research design, flow, environment, participants, and data collection procedures. Specifically, it indicates that the study will use a quantitative questionnaire to collect data from a random sample of 151 senior high school students across different strands at a university in Cebu, Philippines. The questionnaire uses a nominal scale and data will be gathered through a 6-step process involving topic selection, approval, instrument development, subject selection, data collection, and methodology chapter formulation.

Effects of Chronic Sleep Deprivation to the Senior High School Students
Your Research Title 1. What is the research design? In this chapter the research methodology used in the study is described. The geographical area where the study was conducted, the population, the instrument used to collect the data and sample are defined. Specifically, this research will cover the Research Method, Research Sample, Research Instrument, and Data Processing Method. 2. What is the flow of the research? a. Input: b. Process: c. Output:
3. What is the research environment? (Comprehensive description of the research environment)
4. Who are the research participants? (Total population, number of sample size, how the sample size were determined) The population of the study included all the senior high school strands and sections in University of Cebu Metc. consisting of 299 senior high school students but 50% of it will be the respondents; total of 150+1= 151 respondents. The data were gathered from randomly selected respondents of shs students, all the strands are included (PREBACC GRADES 11 & 12, STEM GRADES 11 & 12,HUMSGRADES 11& 12). 5. What is/are the research instrument/s is/are used? The main instrument used in this study was the questionnaires. The researchers designed self-administered questionnaires for the data gathering process to get the quantitative information. The questionnaire was structured in such a way that respondents will be able to answer it easily. Thus, the set of questionnaires was structured using the Nominal Scale. According to most of the researches, a nominal scale, as the name implies, is simply some placing of data into categories, without any order or structure. In research activities a YES/NO scale is nominal. It has no order and there is no distance between YES and NO. AS stated. 6. How is the data gathering procedure done? (Step by step process in gathering the data from beginning to end) Step 1: Selection of the topic. After the research paper was introduced, the researcher was told to come up with a topic wherein they can identify the issues or different problems that they have encountered while studying, in that way the researcher can learn about the problem and have opportunities for collecting data and to decide what next steps to take. Step 2: Approval of the topic. After formulating the topic of the study, it had undergone the process of checking and revising for a few times before it was finally approved. Step 3: Formulation of the Chapters. After having the topic approved, the researcher now moved on to formulating the first chapter. Where in the researcher introduced the problem and its settings. It underwent a few revising before moving on to the second chapter. Then, the researcher started working on the second chapter after a few weeks of finishing the first one. Step 4: Formulation of the Research Instrument. 2 weeks after finishing the second chapter, the researcher formulated the questionnaires which are to be given to the subject that is where the data will be collected. The questionnaire took time in preparing and revising. After being approved, the researcher then moved on to the next step. Step 5: Selection of Subjects. University of Cebu Metc. has 7 sections in senior high school level. The population of the study is 151. To select the subjects, the researcher randomly chose 21-22 students from each section to meet the said population equally. Step 6: Formulation of Chapter 3. After collecting data from the subjects using the research instrument, the researcher then moved on to the next step. This chapter presents the research method used, the research sample, the research instrument, formula the researcher will be using to compute the given data, and the data gathering method.
