Explain the courses of action required to be facilitated by the steering committee in modifying the

organizational infrastructure.

Steering committees are advisory bodies made up of experts and stakeholders that provide
guidance on various issues that companies may face, such as new ventures, budgets, company policy,
marketing strategies, and project management concerns. Before beginning total quality work, the
steering committee must have a team building session after the top management design. Following team
building, the steering committee must receive total quality training from an outside consultant before
embarking on any total quality work. The next step is for the same committee to create the
organization's vision statement and guiding principles. The goal is to gather the steering committee's
thoughts and ideas to create a meaningful document that embodies the company's goals and objectives.
After the creation of the vision statement and guiding principles, the steering committee must translate
the vision statement into a set of broad company objectives. Finally, the steering committee must
communicate the vision, guiding principles, objectives, and total quality initiatives to all members of the
organization.
