Global Interstate System 1
Effects of Globalization to Governments
The concept of globalization brought us many significant changes that mold
the world as what it is today. It doesn’t just involve the economic development of
every country, but it also greatly influenced everything in this world. These changes
may be definitely good for others, but at the same time, other people perceived this
as a bad concept. It’s like a double-edged sword, since it has good and bad effects
for everything. Moreover, we cannot deny that we are in a global village that
globalization brought, basically, this changes the way we live in today as we venture
to the future. The human lifestyle, the culture, the society, and our beliefs are some
of the profound effects that globalization brought.

On the brighter side, globalization brought us new things that are very useful
today, and some of this were now considered necessity in the modern age. The
technologies are now making our lives comfortable unlike before. The way
communication works today is much easier, it can be done even you are talking with
another person on the other side of the world. Globalization also make way for the
people to understand each other even though their cultural and spiritual point of view
is different. Not only that, it also gave rights to women and children today since it is
relatively different as it was before, like most jobs and education are for men only. To
simply put this, globalization widely contributed on every aspect of what we are
benefiting today.

On the contrary, the globalization has brought up new challenges in the world
today. It does not just involve the different countries, but also it affected the human
beings in terms of their moral and ethical beliefs. Globalization has contributed
towards increasing the gap between the rich and the poor. It also made some
cultural and spiritual aspect extinct. Although, the information increases and clarity
about reality can be gained through the technology, we cannot also deny that it these
reality through the technology can be manipulated in to a particular perspective.
Moreover, as technology continuously progresses, crimes like human trafficking, and
drugs also flow with it and adapted it.

All in all, globalization means for me making the best of what the planet and
the global population offers. Seeing the world as it is: it is a system of interconnected
systems that are interdependent and that influence each other. Even the smallest
thing that happens in one part of the globe can have a significant impact - positive or
negative - on something at the opposite side of the planet, or even the world as a
whole.

Institutions that Govern International Relations

Trade is vital for maintaining a competitive global economy because it fosters

innovation and pushes markets to become more specialized. The freedom to trade
also offers access to goods and services that may be of greater quality and less
expensive than their domestic counterpart. So, the global trade makes the world
continue to run and develop. The importance of importing and exporting procedures
gave economic benefits on most of the country that are involved in global trade.
Basically, through global trade, it encouraged the developing countries to be
competitive.

Along with the global trade are those who manages and creates law in order
to provide a system where equal rights and justice are given between countries
partaking in the global trade. The world trade organization is the one that ensuring
that the global trade should flow as smoothly, predictably and freely as possible.
They administer trade agreements international trade between nations, and the one
that settling trade disputes between nations. They also reviewing, analyzing, and
enhancing the national trade policies for the benefit of the international trade
between nations.

On the other hand, the international monetary fund is the one that ensuring
the stability of the international monetary system—the system of exchange rates and
international payments that enables different countries and their citizens to transact
with each other. Basically, they are the one that is responsible for the upkeep of the
international monetary system, the method through which international payments
between countries are made. It establishes a framework for foreign exchange
transactions in order to encourage investment and create balanced global economic
commerce. While the World Bank basically, collaborates with the IMF, the world
bank fosters long-term economic development and poverty reduction by providing
nations with technical and financial assistance.

Internationalism and Globalism

Globalization may be defined as a process of change that increases the

interconnection and interdependence of countries and economies, bringing the world
closer together through improved global communication, transportation, and
commerce linkages. This process is radically and rapidly transforming the planet,
influencing economic, social, political, and cultural elements of life and providing both
possibilities and problems.

What is unique is the emergence of a modern form of globalization in recent

decades, aided by the pace and scope of global integration resulting from
unmatched advancements and reduction in the cost of technology, communications,
science, transport and industry.

The transition from internationalism to globalism is indeed happening because

we are living now in the age of globalization. Basically, Internationalism lays stress
only on the solidarity and cooperation among Nations, while acknowledging
Sovereign Character. While, globalism on the other hand not only emphasizes the
dilution of the Sovereign Expression of the Nations but demonstrates the conflicts
arising out of this dilution as well. The best demonstration for internationalism is a
world where the countries are separated due to national borders between nations.
While the globalism, is the earth as a whole where no national boundaries are
present.

Globalization entails integrating the world's economies in order to promote

free commerce and economic policies that will integrate the globe into the global
village. It is the process of opening the economies of the nation for the other nations
and to sync the rules and regulations with other nations. Internationalism means to
produce goods or deliver services that have the capability of entering into the
international markets and have the standards that are globally accepted.
Internationalism means to expand the business and enter into the market of different
countries. It is the process in which a business, firm or individual expands and
becomes part of the other countries, it may be for goods supply, customer base or
such other demand fulfilment.
