NARRATIVE REPORT

1. Brief description of your ingredients (used the back page if necessary)

 1 ½ cup Pancake Mix- This is the main ingredients in making a sponge cake. We will use 1 ½ cup
of Pancake Mix.
 1 tsp. Baking Powder- It is used to increase the value and lighten the texture of our sponge
cake.
 ½ tsp salt- Salt has a binding or strengthening effect on gluten and thereby adds strength to any
flour.
 ½ cup whole milk- It deals for creating delicious sponge cake.
 4 tbsp. unsalted butter- It gives a complete control of the overall flavor of the sponge cake.
 3 large eggs- They create structure and stability within a battery. They add moisture to the
sponge cakes. The 3 egg white will use for making a icing.
 1 cup granulated sugar- Sugar will sweetens the sponge cake and will add flavor to it. Also we
are going to use sugar in making icing.
 2 tsp Vanilla Extract- It enhances all the other flavors in the sponge cakes.

2. Preparation and procedure (used the back page if necessary)

1st I do the mise en place. 2nd is I sift together the 1 1/2 cup Pancake Mix, 1 tsp baking powder,
1/2 tsp salt and set aside. 3rd in a pot, I combine the ½ cup whole milk and 4 tbsp. unsalted butter and heat it
over medium heat just for the butter to melt. 4th in the mixing bowl beat 3 eggs for 1 min. then gradually I
add 1 cup sugar, 2 tsp vanilla extract and 1 ½ cup sifted pancake mix and mix it for 6 min. 5th I heat up the
whole milk and the butter until it boils and then I put it on the mixture and mix it well. 6th I spread the butter
in the baking pan and we put the mixture to it. 7th I put it on the streamer and let it to cook. To know if it is
already ready I use fork to jab, if there is no one go with the fork then it is already cook. 8th when it is already
cook set aside it and cook the last mixture, when it is cook set aside it. 9 th is I make chocolate ganache for
coating the sponge cake. In a pan I put the ½ cup nestle cream and pre heat it until it can melts the chocolate.
Next is I put the ½ cup chocolate in a bowl, when the nestle cream is already hot I pour it into the bowl that
has chocolate and I melt the chocolate. After making the chocolate ganache I coat now the sponge cake with
chocolate ganche. After coating the sponge cake I decorate it by putting wafers on top of the sponge cake and
also chocolate on top. After decorating it I put it in the ref refrigerator for storing the sponge cake. Lastly is I
take a picture of the finish sponge cake.

3. Insights about your finished product (used the back page if necessary)

The sponge cake that I my tita make comes out well. I love how the smells of it. It is also fluffy.
Before making is I was nervous because I am thinking what if it will not taste good but when we already doing
the task and it is time to taste it, it was so good. Also I love how we decorate it. The decoration of the cake is
attractive.
