PRODUCT SELECTION

Paper cups are becoming more and more popular across the globe as a
way to become more eco-friendly and reduce exposure to food-borne infections.
Paper cups demand is majorly originating from IT companies, educational
institution, food canteens, industrial canteen, restaurants, coffee or tea shops,
fast food, supermarkets, health clubs and event organizers.

As paper cups are a product of daily use and have mass consumptions
requirements, selling of paper cups in the market will not be a problem. With
well- established demand and supply forces, the prices of paper cups in the
market can be easily ascertained and sold in bulk to traders or end customers
through a variety of channels.

PROPOSED LOCATION’S JUSTIFICATION

Location is the prime factor which has to be considering for starting a


new business. The location should be decided by considering all factors and
making independent analysis of each variable separately through cost benefit
analysis and the location should either be near to the market (i.e. customer) or
where the raw material is easily available in adequate quantity.

 Availability of raw material :

The raw material is an important and initial part of Production


process. It should be easily available at reasonable price and time because
it is first step of production process for any industry.

In case of this industry the basic raw material is paper which are
available from nearby districts. Our raw material supplier is Luxurious
Paper Products, Metoda GIDC, Rajkot.

 Labour resources :

Labour resources are the second important thing for any industry
for effectively running and achieve maximum production. Labour should
be available at least cost.

In this case 1 sales cum production manager, 1 skilled and 1


unskilled labour required which is available from nearby area.

 Electric supply :

The continuous electric supply is very important for manufacturing


process of this unit to run the machines. And due to residential area the
electricity company provides electricity continuous and at a current rate.

 Transportation facility :

Transport the raw materials and finished products from one place to
another place each industry should required of good transport facility.
There are many transport companies situated in nearby area.

 Market facilities :

The demand of paper cup is increasing at a very high rate because


it is easy to use, hygienic and eco-friendly. As paper cups are a product of
daily consumption and necessity , their marketing will not be a problem
as the consumer are aware of the advantages of using paper cups. The raw
material are indigenously available and the manufacturing process is also
simple.

Paper cup find potential market in IT companies, Educational


Institutions, Canteen, Industrial Canteens, Restaurants, Fast Foods,
Catering people, Tea shops, Paper products dealers and Super markets.

PRODUCT INTRODUCTION AND MARKET ANALYSIS

A paper cup is a disposable made out of paper and after lined with plastic
or wax prevent liquid from leakage out or soaking by paper. Paper cups are mad
from renewable resources. The cups should be made from the food grade paper
which is hygienic in nature. It is capable for holding both hot & cold liquid
for longer time. The uses of paper cups have wide range. Give the rapid
changes in life style; it is the right time to enter the consumer segment to
popularize the home consumption of paper cups.

There are several inherent advantages in using Paper cups as compared to


cups of other materials. These paper cups are gaining popularity all across the
globe as beautiful and stylish way of minimizing exposure of food-borne
infections.

Paper cups have numerous advantages like; they are manufacturing in a


very simple process using Food Grade raw materials with least waste and are
easiest to recycle. They are ideal for individual servings at all kinds of
parties, functions, picnic, occasions, marriages, chat & food joints, etc.
Non-toxic in nature, the shapes and surface designs on these paper cups are
attractive and present an inviting look. These paper cups can also be custom
printed with and outlet’s logo, brand punch line or advertising message.

HISTORY OF THE PRODUCT

A paper cup is a disposable cup made out of paper and often lined with
plastic or wax to prevent liquid from leaking out or soaking through the paper.
It may be made out of recycled paper and widely used around the world.

Paper cups have been documented in imperial China, where paper was
invented by 2ndcentury BC. Paper cups are known as chih pei and were used
for serving of tea. They were constructed in different size and colours, and
were adorned with decorative designs, textual evidence of paper cups appears in
a description of the possession of the Y u family, from the city of Hangzhou.

The modern paper cups are developed in the 20 th century. In the early
20th century, it was common to have shared glasses or dippers at water sources
such as school faucets or water barrels in trains. This shared use caused public
health concerns.

To set-up of a paper cup making business about 500 sq. ft. Covered area
with adequate power and water connection is necessary. It is sensible to set up

GOVERNMENT PROCEDURE

ISO registration procedure:

Step-1: Choosing the kind of certification

The very first step is to choose the kind of certification the


organisation wants.

Step-2: File an application

Once the entrepreneur selects the ISO standard, it shall make an


application in a respective form based on the ISO registrar. The application
shall include the power and responsibilities of the entrepreneur and certificate
the body.

Step-3: Submission of documents

Application shall be field along with the requisite documents and the
same shall be reviewed by the ISO certificate body. ISO certification body will
review all the quality manuals and documents related to various policis being
followed in the organisation.

Step-4: Initial review of the quality management systems

To identify any significance weakness in the organisation, the pre-


assessment of the quality management system is an organisation is reviewed by
the registrar and will also provide an opportunity to correct the deficiencies
before the regular registration assessment is conducted.

Step-5: Preparing an action plan

Once the initial review of the quality management system is reviewed,


the ISO registrar notifies the existing gaps in the organisation, and to eliminate
these gaps the applicant has to prepare an action plan. The action plan should
contain the list of requisite work to be performed to meet the quality
management system.

Step-6: On-premises audit by the registrar

The registrar will conduct a non-premises inspection to audit the


changes made in the organisation. However, if the registrar finds that the
requisite changes do not meet the requirements of the ISO standards, the
registrar will categorize the organisation into two categories depending on
severity.

1. Minor Non-compliances
2. Major Non-compliances

Note- The ISO registration cannot precede unit all significant non-compliances
are closed by the registrar while doing a re-audit.

Step-7: Obtaining ISO certificate

The registrar will issue the ISO certification when all the non-
conformities are resolved and are updated in the ISO audit report.

PRODUCTION SCHEDULE

A. Production process of paper cup:

We have propose to use the automatic paper cup forming


machine for our manufacturing process of paper cups. The general
structure of paper cup forming machine is composed of three stages. They
are;

1. The first stage: Mainly finishes transmission of the paper cup’s


sidewall paper, shaping side-wall and transferring them to the
second stage after shaped.

2. The second stage: transmission of the cup-bottom paper, shaping


cup bottom, joining the shaped side-wall and cup bottom,
automatic transmission and discharging of the shaped cup, and
curling the shaped cup’s edge.

3. The third stage: mainly include 45 degree angle separating,


curling bottom, curling rim and so on mechanisms, which are the
important parts in finishing paper cup.

The production capacity of this established plat will be 30,000


nos. of paper cups per day.

Utilized 50%:

The production capacity of this established plant will be 15,000


nos. of paper cups per day.

The schedule for production would be as follows

9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The whole production process would be carried out


simultaneously and the post production will also be speedily.

3.1 INTRODUCTION TO MARKETING DEPARTMENT

Market is the place where buying and selling is carried out by buyers
and sellers i.e. trading activity are carried out.

Marketing is a social and management process that involves identifying


unsatisfied needs or wants of the consumers, producing goods or services to
satisfy those needs wants, determining appropriate price, promotion and
distributing and maintaining relation with the market.

In today's modern area each and every firm gives priority to have a different
marketing department. Marketing involves the activities such as advertising,
publishing. Market research, distribution aspect, sales promotion, etc

A marketing plan may be part of an overall business plan. Should


marketing strategy is the foundation of a well writing marketing plan so that
goals may be achieve. While a marketing plan contains a list of action without a
sound strategic foundation. It is of title use to a business.

Our firm will do long term marketing planning as well short term planning our
firm is sole proprietorship so I will manage my marketing planning with my
own.

A marketing plan may be part of an overall business plan solid marketing


strategy is the foundation of a well writing marketing plan so that goals may be
achieved. While a marketing plan contains a list of actions. Without a sound
strategic foundation it is of little use to a business.

3.2 PRODUCT STRATEGIES

 Product specification:
Carbide tool can be worked at higher speeds as compared to HSS tools,
approximately 6 to 8 times higher speeds. Carbide tool have an
exceptional resistance to abrasion. They have a high resistance to catering
and thermal deformation. Carbide tools provide a higher value for money
than their steel. Carbide tool are chemically inert. Tensional strength of
carbide tools is twice of that of HSS tools. Tips of carbide tipped can be
easily replaced for further use.

 Product testing:
There are many type tests do product testing. There is a lot of demand for
carbide tool in the market. This product is very use full the customer can
snipe a very hard steel favorite though this product. This product will be
very much liked and use full by the customer.

We have taken customer feedback to test marketing. There is a lot of
demand for this product in the product the customer can shape a very

Packaging and labeling:

Packaging is the science, art und technology of enclosing or protecting


products for distribution, storage, sale, and use.
Labeling is any writing, Electronic, or graphic communications on the
packaging or on a separate but associate label.

To do this product packing tensioner, strapping roll, strapping clips and sealer
machine will use we will test the packing function of our product, so don't
complain to the customer about the product

 Objective affecting pricing:


Strategy terms pricing into deliberate process in which the company
strategy dictates both the set of product features and the value customers
associate with them.
Pricing objectives are:
 Maximization of profits for the entire product line.
 Early cash recovery.
 Adaptation of prices to fit the diverse competitive.
 Price of a product or services of them plays a significant role in
that product success.
 Cost while fixing the prices the cost involved in pricing the
product.

In pricing policy and strategy I will use cost plus profit strategy means I
will calculate the cost of product and then add the profit in it.

3.4 DISTRIBUTION STRATEGIES

 Channel of distribution:
A distribution channel represent a chain of business or intermediaries
through which the final buyer purchase a good or service distribution
channels include wholesalers, retailers, distribution and the internet in
direct distribution channel. The manufactures sells directly to the
consumers.
A marketing channel performs the work of moving good from producers
to consumers. Marketing channel can be charactized by the number of
channel levels.

 Role and profit margin of middleman:


Middlemen specialize in performing crucial activities involves in the
purchase and sale of goods in their flow from producer to the ultimate
buyers. They typically do not produce anything but possess extensive
knowledge of the market there by charging a commission or a fee for
their services.
