GE_08 - Ethics

Activity no. 3

1. Our obligations vary depending on what role we expect to play. Like for instance as an
adult, we’re expected to obey the laws at a society and contribute in some ways we are
eager and able to. We maybe obliged to guide children and teach them the right values
that may lead them to good life. We do have obligations to ourselves and to and for other
people in our community and it must be justified and not for personal gains.

2. Clothes are matter of pure aesthetics but it is also making sense to include it in the
discussion of ethics since not all clothes are appropriate for in some specific events and or
places. Also, wearing clothes such as revealing clothes are prone to disrespect and worse
can cause harm.

3. In this statement, I disagree that what you believe is true if you feel strong about it because
as an engineering student, I am used to resolve things and do surveys or research and not
to believe purely on my instincts. It’s not what we do. On the other hand, when you feel
something is off or something is good, your gut is your friend. For me, I use my guts to
think twice on something I doubt and helps me weigh facts that I need to be able to
distinguish what is the truth.
