GUERILLA ADVERTISING ( Out door media )

Guerrilla advertising can be defined as a marketing campaign conducted unconventionally, often


involving unusual tactics or surprising the audience. To create an experience that the viewer will
remember long after seeing the ad, in this aspect the purpose is to create a memorable and
impactful one. There are various types and methods of Guerrilla advertising which are :

1. Flash mobs: A flash mob occurs when a group of people suddenly appear in a public
place and perform an elaborate dance or other types of performance to promote a new
product or service.

2. Street teams: This is when people gather to promote a product or brand, either by


handing out free samples, flyers, or other promotional items.
3. Ambush marketing: Different organisations use this method in order to disseminate
their message out to the public by hijacking another event or sponsorship opportunity
held by other organisations . This is in hopes of being sighted or seen on Television
e.g : during the American Super Bowl event , a company might give out branded t-
shirts or hats to people lining up outside the stadium.

4. Guerilla projection: It is a method of displaying video or images on public surfaces


without the owner’s permission. This is commonly used in high-traffic areas to reach
a large audience.
5. Building wraps: This is a banner or other promotional material is placed on the
exterior of a building to generate buzz about a new product or service.
6. Vehicle wraps: Wrapping a vehicle in a promotional message is a great way to
generate brand awareness and reach a large audience through mobile advertising.
7. Street art: The practice of leaving branded messages or images in public spaces can
take many forms, such as graffiti, wheat pasting, and street chalk art.
8. Public relations stunts: A company will do something outrageous to gain media
attention, such as setting a world record, hiring a celebrity spokesperson, or creating a
controversial advertisement.

can be done at much lesser price unlike that of the traditional marketing
method.

due to its creativite nature or uniqueness.

Guerilla marketing tends to leave a lasting impression on the minds of


people. The aim of Guerrilla marketing is to proceed into the subconscious
minds of people, and Guerilla marketing serves this purpose better than
any other marketing method.

Guerilla marketing is a form of marketing that gives provision for a high


return on investment. You get to spend less money to market your
brand, good & services but end up gaining a lot in the form of increased
sales and brand value.

DISADVANTAGES OF GUERRILLA ADVERTISING :

1) It has Low chances of success : The success of the guerilla market


Can not be predicted . No one can assure the success of a guerilla
marketing plan. Sometimes, it tends to get you popularity
suddenly while sometimes, it takes months to get returns.
2)  It may contain high chances of the wrong message :

If Guerilla marketing is not planned properly things might not go right


you’llend up and disseminating the wrong message to people and might spoil
the image of the brand instead of making a positive impression.
3. The benefit to wrong : In the modern world, there are multiple
options for one thing. Your guerilla marketing plan may have the
possibility to prove to be beneficial for some other brands that are
similar, which can end up being of wrong benefit to your own brand.
