Provided is an Annual School Counseling Calendar intended for a high-achieving magnet school in a suburban area. Factored in are the needs of
students commonly in this population, and recognized are the the opportunities for diverse population relevance and unique experiences B-SS 10. The areas
of need are based on a needs assessment from the year prior, and will be tailored according to this year’s feedback. Classroom visits, group meetings, and
individual meetings will support students’ academic/career and social/emotional needs M6. Outside of direct intervention, students, teachers, and all staff
will be supported via school environment through events, activities, and meetings via the counseling department. The Counseling Department’s focus is to
look at the child as whole, tending to accommodated and personal needs in order to best support student’s present and future B-LS 7. In achieving this,
students will be able to take care of their emotional and physical wellbeing in order to handle adversity and inspire others (Worzbyt et al., 2003, p. 223).
