Plenipotentiary.

Since 1950, El Salvador has been characterized by net emigration. According to the United Nations,

1.6 million Salvadorans lived abroad in 2019, 24.8 percent of the country’s total population. Such

movement has a positive impact on local well-bring, including through receipt of remittances. Between

2001-2019, remittances comprised at least 15 percent of El Salvador’s GDP.

El Salvador offers its products to several countries and one of the main ones is the
United States, in addition to being facilitated by the land they have, but the
disadvantage is that it is very far away, it offers Agroindustry, food and beverages,
various manufactures (garments of clothing, plastics, metal industry, chemical and
pharmaceutical industry) among others.

at the state level more than $1,000,000 million. -El
Salvador will have access to purchases from more than
25 states.

President Bukele continued using the military in public security operations, despite a
1992 peace accord stipulation against it. Abortion is illegal under all circumstances. Providers face prison
sentences of 6 months to 12 years.

LGBT individuals remain targets of homophobic and transphobic
capacity, the World Prison Brief revealed, including approximately 23 percent in pretrial

● Gangs and Violence.

Approximately 60,000 gang members operate in El Salvador, according to media. They

exert control over territory and extort and gather intelligence on residents and those
passing through, particularly around public transit, schools, and markets.

● Disappearances.

From January 2014 to October 2019, police registered over 11,900 disappearance
victims (including more than 400 children)—which exceeds the estimated 8,000 to
10,000 disappeared during the civil war (1979-1992). The disappearances are
committed by a range of actors, including gangs and the police. Few cases are
investigated.
