Pre-Spanish Era Before the arrival of the
Spaniards, the Filipinos were
actively involved in scientific
research and development,
resulting in the first wave of
primitive technology. They

possessed an alphabet, a
writing system, a system of
counting, and weights and

Filipinos were already

involved in mining, weaving,
shipbuilding, and agriculture.
One of the more complex
works of pre-Spanish Filipino
engineering is the Banaue
Rice Terraces.

of which had a significant
impact on the development of
the nation's professions.
However, the role played by
religious orders in the
conquest and colonization of
the archipelago as well as the
economic and trade policies
implemented by the colonial
administration had a
significant impact on the
direction and rate of
development of science and
technology.

The Filipinos naturally resisted

reduction since it pulled them
away from their customary
sources of livelihood, such as
rice fields, streams, and
woods, and also subjected
them to the colonial
government's onerous
economic demands. In many
places, the first century of
Spanish rule resulted in
severe socioeconomic
instability and a fall in
agricultural productivity and
traditional crafts. Filipinos
migrated from their
barangays to the city to serve
in convents and therefore
avoid obligatory labor duties
in shipyards and woods in the
territory surrounding the
walled city of Manila. This
population movement would
contribute greatly to the
overcrowding of Manila and
its neighbors over the
centuries.

native industries like weaving,

MOVIE REVIEW
TITLE: WALL-E

Summary:
 This film is about a robot that wants to recover the earth. Wall-e is the last robot on
earth. Wall-E was living alone until he met Eve. Eve is also a robot from another
spaceship that's on a mission on Earth. Many humans that living with technology is
where Eve came from. Wall-e meets humans when it follows Eve to the galaxy, because
Eve died when it detected something that came from the earth, like the plants. Eve and
Wall-e wish to return to Earth. When the technology goes off, the people in there regain
their consciousness, as well as the captain of the spaceship, who also regains his
consciousness with the help of Eve. When he regains consciousness, he flies the
spaceship and returns to Earth. When they landed on earth, that's when they started to
plant and recuperate the earth to its old state. Then Wall-E stays on Earth together with
some robots and humans.

Connection of The Movie in Science Technology and Society:

Opinion: (can be recommend or not? Why? Why not?)

 I highly recommend this film because it is good for everyone. They can relate to this
movie because they live in a world full of technology. Additionally, they can learn
information that they can use now or in the future because technology is advancing at a
rapid rate and there is a chance that the events depicted in this movie may one day
come true. The nicest thing about this movie is that it teaches the audience that
technology is bad for the planet and for everyone if we don't limit it.
