DEFINITION OF TERMS

The terms employed in the study, are here outlined operationally and technically utilizedthem.

LITERACY

 It is the ability to identify, understand, interpret, create, communicate and compute,using printed
and written materials associated with varying contexts. It is about the usespeople make of it as a
means of communication and expression, through a variety ofmedia. Literacy involves a continuum of
learning in enabling individuals to achieve theirgoals, to develop their knowledge and potential, and
to participate fully in theircommunity and wider society (UNESCO, 2004; 2017).

SOCIAL MEDIA

It is a computer-based technology that makes it easier to share views, ideas, and information by
establishing online communities and networks. These are platforms for electronic communication
where users can establish online communities to exchange information, concepts, personal messages,
and other content (such as social networking websites and microblogging) (such as videos; Miriam-
Webster, 2018). In this study, this phrase will be used interchangeably with "social networking."

SOCIAL MEDIA LITERACY

Social media literacy refers to a person's knowledge of, comprehension of, enrollment in, creation of,
administration of, management of, and withdrawal from social media platforms and social media
networking sites. Social media literacy refers to a set of abilities needed by both individuals and
organizations to participate in the online social system. Individuals need a range of abilities known as
social media literacy in order to thrive in the socializing process and reap its full rewards through using
online interactive tools and websites (Ramasamy K., 2020).

STUDYING HABITS OF STUDENTS

It is the routines that a student follows to aid in their study and learning. Students can earn and/or
retain good grades by developing effective study habits. A study habit is an action that students
frequently and consistently engage in to complete a task, such as reading, taking notes, or holding
study groups. learning. Depending on how well they serve the pupils, it might be deemed effective or
ineffective.
