Social Media

According to Maya (2021) social media refers to a computer-based technology

through smartphone apps, computers started with this communication tool and social

media can refer to any internet communication that allows the users to broadly share

and engage with the public using content and many more (Matthew, 2020).

Furthermore, social media is a phrase that we say or throw a lot nowadays, often

to describe of what we post on apps and sites like facebook, twitter, Instagram, and

others. Some of the people have more of a restricted view of social media, often

equating it to mean alike as social networking while other people don’t consider blogs to

fall under the category of social media (Daniel Nations, 2021).

Likewise, students and educators can freely use social media as an informational

and communicational tools to ease and to improve learning process. However, social

media are growing and expanding rapidly among the young generation all over the

world. University and high school students are widely engaged on using social media.

Mushtaq & Abdelmadjid Benraghda, 2018).

According to Aysun Bozanta & Sona Mardikyan (2017) in daily lives of todays’

students social media usage has been penetrated to the many areas, social media can

be am effective tool to support their educational communications and collaborations with

their friends, classmates, and also faculty members. It might be helpful to the students

and educational leaders in their efforts to make or create initiatives to support, promote,

and encourage the implantation and usage of social media in learning.
