The line graph shows the cotton imports of Germany and Italy between 2000 and 2003. Firstly, the

cotton import of both countries declined between 2000 and 2001. To illustrate, the import of Italy went down

from around 22 to 5 millions tonnes, and the import of Germany decreased from 15 to around 4 millions of

tonnes. Secondly, the cotton import of Italy rose between 2001 and 2003. Italy imported 5 million tones of

cotton in 2001 and in 2003 it reached almost 25 millions of tonnes. Finally, the cotton import of Germany

remained the same at around 4 millions of tonnes between 2001 and 2002, but it rose sharply between 2002

and 2003. It went up to almost 20 millions between those years. To sum up, the cotton imports of Germany

and Italy firstly decreased and then increased between 2000 and 2003.
