The document summarizes the status of computer labs at SVCN campus. Lab CC1 has 51 working systems out of 69 total, but needs network updates and has no UPS. Lab CC2 has 65 working systems out of 89 total, and the remaining 24 can be repaired for Rs. 1 lakh. To meet current and future student needs, the campus requires 280 total systems but currently only has 300 across all departments. Investing Rs. 35 lakhs will allow the campus to strengthen its computer labs and attract more students while achieving accreditation.

Status of computers in SVCN labs as on 20/01/2023:
We have two labs CC1 and CC2
CC1 has 69 systems with dual core processors and present working 51 with maximum life of 1 year and last installed was before 9 years. It doesn’t have UPS in condition. CC1 networking needs to be updated as per new requirements As per the new standards Minimum system configuration has to be I3 7 th generation or I5 3rd generation. In order to purchase new systems, the cost of each system assembled with brand new components would be around 16000/ per system. Each section will have 70 students @ 16000/ = 11.00 lakhs CC2 has 89 systems with I3 configuration and present working condition are 65 and balance 24 systems can be repaired at a budget of 1.00 lakh which includes damage of keyboards, Mouses, SMPS. CC2 ups is in working condition and networking is as per standards. Currently the workload for computer labs is 48 slots, each slot is of 3 hours and we are able to accommodate students for only 24 slots which is creating huge gap in labs usage by students. Considering the current admissions and Future NBA accreditation we need to have 280 systems in campus and we are short of 165 systems to bring computer department and emerging technologies in to order. Students are already expressing their dissatisfaction over the lab’s conditions. We need to invest 35.00 lakhs to strengthen computer labs in SVCN campus to attract premium admissions and also success in getting NBA accreditation. I’m sure investment on computer labs at this point of time will create a good reputation among the students. Naryana Engineering college has separate lab for each and every department and total systems in campus are around 1000/ Geethanjali Engineering college has 400 computers for computer science department. As per AICTE hand book the PC to student’s ratio is Diploma 1:6, UG 1:6, PG 1:2 As per the above standard we need to have 540 systems and the maximum we have in all departments are 300 including administration.
