Part 1

What is the problem?

Ans-Women or female are not allowed to travel alone at night and they have restriction to get home by
10pm or 12 pm. This is because of the public transport which are not fully safe at night for women

Whom does it affect?

Ans-It affects all the females and they don’t feel gender equality really exist

What is the impact and how severe is it?

Ans-Public transportation services are not always gender sensitive and safety concerns related to
women’s mobility in metropolitan areas are at times overlooked. The lack of a safe and inclusive public
transportation system influences many decisions that women make, from where to go to work, how far
from home to travel to school, to where to shop for basic household items.

Who would be willing to pay for solving this problem and why?
Ans-All the females in India will be willing to pay for any services by which they can travel at night and
their elder will send them out without taking any tension (bezhizhak)

Part 2

Technique name and description

1]BRAINWRITING 6-3-5-A creativity tool aimed to address the potential deficiencies of brainstorming
(uneven participation and verbally led) by encouraging participation from all, with an emphasis on
sketching of ideas.

2]ATTRIBUTE LISTING-A creativity tool aimed to address the potential deficiencies of brainstorming
(uneven participation and verbally led) by encouraging participation from all, with an emphasis on
sketching of ideas.

CLASSICAL BRAINSTORMING

Reason/Justification to use this technique

Brainwriting 6-3-5- I find this technique very beneficiary because the idea given by the person is not just
1 or 2 people there are around 20-25 people participating in this technique and in my problem there is
not black or white everything is grey, in brainwriting none of the ideas produced by the participants are
not rejected they are just modified.

Attribute listing-This problem we are facing since very long many of them have tried to solve this
problem like government and private companies but most of them have failed, so this time we have too
go in depth of this problem and this can be done well by attribute listing by breaking the problem into
small parts

Plan to implement an ideation exercise (including requirements: people, resources, duration of the
exercise, and timeline of possible execution)

Ans-The main people requirement for the ideatation exercise will be women because this problem
totally revolves around them, the secondary people will be people of transportation services,
government officials of transport, railway people, cab drivers etc. The money we require is that to reach
the people with experience in transport sector and some money will be required to conduct surveys.
Our activities will be to conduct live surveys ask them about their experience in public transport at night.
Our duration is not fixed as soon as we get an idea that we got the data that we needed we can stop, till
we don’t get any idea about the problem we should just keep on doing it. We can start ideation exercise
any time we want but it should not be done when the holiday season is going on and there is less rush in
public transport

Part 3

Plan to implement Situational Analysis on this problem

1. What is wrong with the situation you are facing and why are improvements necessary?

a. General information on the problematic solution

What is happening?

Ans-The situation here is whenever women travel at night, they and their family members feel unsafe,
this problem arises even in big metropolitan cities such as Mumbai, delhi etc. If this kind of situation
arises in big cities, then what will be the situation in small cities or villages

Where does the problem take place?

Ans-There is not a fix place where the problem takes place, it generally happens in public transport or on
road during the time when there are very less people walking

When does the problem happen?

Ans-There is also not a fix time when does it happens, but generally it happens at night when there are
very less people on public transport
Why does the problem arise?

Ans-Answers haven’t been found why this problem happens, as per my opinion this problems arises
because of the mentality of the people (I am not talking about everyone), because whenever they see a
girl alone they will whistle and show impolite behavior towards them.

b. Information on any improvement effort undertaken and the outcomes of this improvement

Ans-There have been countless steps have been undertaken by the government to improve the women
safety and public transport services, like Maharashtra government have provided different helpline
number to the women which is 103.

another step are as follows

1. Mahila Police Kaksha (Women Help Desk)

2. Mahila Suraksha Samittee
3. Social Security Cells
4. Special Counseling Centers (SCC)
5. Help centers at S.T
6. Measures taken to Preventive female Foeticide

2. What is the name of the system you intend to improve?

Ans-I would to name my system in Hindi because most of the people in India know how to speak Hindi. I
would like to name Nahi suraksha

3. What is the main useful function of your system?

Ans-First I will do deep-down research on the previous policies implemented by the government. After
that will do a field work. I will just make an assumption that In the city of Mumbai where the population
is around 2 crores we will require around 1000 people to do the field work. Then try to make a function

4. Which criteria would you use to evaluate whether this improvement of your system succeeded?

Ans-In the beginning I would like to find the criteria by taking recommendation from my team and we
will mutually decide by elimination the extra criteria together, after that we will have a look at the
remaining criteria whether they will be helpful with deciding the success ratio of my system

5. What is the name of the super-system for your system?

Ans-my super system name would be purush mahila 1 saman

6. What needs of the super-system require your system to be modified?

Ans-super system and system are not fully same they are similar and system is just a small part of the
super system. We will have a look at the super system need and determine that

7. Can the needs of the super-system be fulfilled in some other way, without modifying your system
or by using some other existing system?

Ans-This question can be only answered by doing deep research of the needs of system and super
system and afterwards keeping the need side by side

8. What human (customer) needs require your system to be modified?

Ans-Needs of the human (customer) first should be understanded by us and afterwards system can be
modified

9. Can human (customer) needs be fulfilled in some other way without modifying your system or by
using some other existing system?
Ans-Same as above needs of human (customer) should be understanded. After understanding the
needs, we will have a look at the system, if the system is not good for the humans, we will have a look at
similar other systems and see if this will help the human if this is not successful, we will need to modify
the existing system

10. What is your main objective in improving the situation?

Ans-Objectives are created when we see a problem, so when we see a problem already objectives are
created in our brain not directly but indirectly

11. Formulate all the tasks you need to undertake to improve the original situation.

Ans-Understanding the situation is a must in my problem women are not allowed to travel at night, so
we will just have a look at the original situation is going on currently, we will interview almost everyone
and get to the root of it then will prepare the tasks

12. List the Outcomes

a. Original Tasks- It will be found out by having a look at the reports prepared by the media, reports
prepared by the government will also help

b. Found Task-While trying to solve this problem we will also find the other related tasks which have
been not solved d
Problem-Women are not allowed to travel at night at 11 and most of the girls have time limit when the
boys don’t

It relates to one of the us sustainable goal which is Gender equality

I will explain it to you how it can be a commercial venture
