FCE SPEAKING

Topic 1: Family life, daily routines,

or how you spend your free time.
1/How many people are there in
your family? Who?
I was born in a well - educated family.
It includes five people my father, my
mother, my elder sisters, and myself.
My family has developed a new hobby of
cooking together every weekend since
the outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic.
Sometimes it's just simple dishes, but
cooking and enjoying meals together
really makes our family warmer and
closer than ever.

2/Which family member do you

spend the most time with?
Every day I spend most of my time at
home with my mom. Because other members
of the family are busy with outside
work. My mother was a homemaker so most
of the time she stayed at home. So my
mom and I also had more time to talk
and get to know each other better.

3/Could you tell me about your

family home?
My house is located in a small alley in
District 12 of Ho Chi Minh City. My
house is moderately sized. Although it
is not as big as other houses, it is
always full of laughter and fun. For
me, my home is the most beautiful
because it is the place that makes me
happiest when I remember and return.

4/Do you like your neighbourhood?

To be honest, my neighbors have good
people and bad people. For that reason,
for each person I will have different
feelings, some people like it and some
people hate it. Whether I hate or like
a person depends on how that person
behaves.

5/Is there anything you would like to

change about your
neighbourhood?
To make my neighbor more civilized, I
will ask them not to pick chillies from
my chilli plant anymore. In the
morning, I saw green chillies slowly
growing. But in the afternoon, I
realized all the chillies were gone.
Asking people around, I know that
because the opposite house sells beef
noodle soup, they often use chilli to
eat, so they took my house's chillies.
I just want to say to them, please be
civilized.

Topic 2: Family life, daily routines,

or how you spend your free time.
1/ What are your favourite and least
favourite subjects?
I am gifted in literature and have a
passion for reading books for a long
time, so Literature really creates
interest and passion for me. However, I
am not very good at thinking or working
with numbers, so Math is the subject
that I don’t like the most. But whether
I like it or not, I have to learn,
accept it.

2/What is the most important thing

that you’ve learned at school?
For others, the thing they acquire the
most while in school is knowledge. But
for me, it's how to work and behave in
a community. Those are things that no
teacher can teach me to fully
understand. It's just that when I live
and work in a group, I have to change
my way of behaving to integrate with
everyone. That's probably the most
valuable thing I learned in school.

3/Where do you go when you have to

study? (Why do you like to study
there?)
If I were to recommend everyone the
best place to study, I would definitely
say a quiet room with trees outside. I
used to go to my friend's house to
study together, the room we studied was
his bedroom. A small but quiet room and
there is a bougainvillea outside the
window. And as a result, that day we
focused on studying much more because
of the quietness and sometimes the
sound of leaves rustling very
peacefully.

4/Is there something new you’d

really like to learn about? (Why?)
Ever since I was a child I have loved
to dance and I have always wanted to
learn to dance. But the older I get,
the more time I spend learning at
school, so I still haven't been able to
do that until now. Maybe in the future
when I have time and economic self-
control, I will go to dance lessons
because I feel that when I dance, I
feel like I am releasing all the
fatigue in my soul. If possible, you
can try a dance to feel it

5/Do you plan to study in the future?

(What do you want to study?)
When I go to university, I plan to
study Law. I am curious about laws and
there are very strange laws in the
world. Part of me wanted to find out
why they made such a law. For the rest
I am a debating person so I feel that
being a lawyer is right for me. It may
have many difficulties in the learning
process but I believe it will bring a
lot of good value to myself.
