Is humanity enough to handle crisis and serving people in need?

We should all care more about global issues and preparing for any potential disasters. Look at the
recent earthquake in Mexico, Hurricane Katrina, or the 9/11 terrorist attacks. As we move into a time
where technology is available 24-7 with the push of a button, humanity will be struggling to keep up
with the massive influx of information flooding our lives through social media, news reports and
blogs.

However, it may not be enough for one person to handle this by themselves. Organizations like
AVANESTINE are striving hard to improve their outreach program to those in need on an international
scale. One such volunteer placement organization is the Global Humanitarian Forum, which helps
coordinate volunteer projects to those in need.

The program is referred to as GFF, with several one-week long missions at a time. These volunteers
are chosen based on their experience, skills and work ethic as well as their relevant connections. The
program aims at strengthening cooperation and partnerships between organizations and
governments all over the world for mutual benefit in places like Haiti, Rwanda and Malawi.

Due to its success in the past years, AVANESTINE has once again teamed up with GFF for its 13th
mission this August 2012.
