(Pipile pipile)
The Pawi is marked as a critically endangered
species. It is one of the most endangered birds in
the world. The Pawi has a white crest upon its
head, a light blue cere and a small dark blue
dewlap. It has glossy black feathers with white
patches on its wing coverts and red legs.

Threats:
illegal hunting, deforestation, habitat loss &
habitat alteration as a result of climate
change.

Saving the species


We can help save the Pawi by raising awareness
by sharing information about it on social media
and by educating school students about
endangered species in their country and how they
can contribute to saving the species.
