Abstract
 
This final project entitled An Analysis of Phrasal Verb Translation on
Forrest
  Gump Subtitle. This project uses Forrest Gump film subtitle, an American
drama-comedy film as the object of the analysis. This project aims are to identify
the  phrasal verb found in the dialogue of Forrest Gump film subtitle, to identify the
translation method used in translating the phrasal verb, to recognize the most
 
frequently used translation method in translating the phrasal verb and also to
  identify the faithfulness of translation in Forrest Gump subtitle. Qualitative method
with text analysis as the main method was applied in finding out the answer for this
project.
  The type of phrasal verb and translation method were analyzed and 139
phrasal verbs were found in the subtitle; and the faithfulness of translation were
analyzed
  in 1532 lines of translation. There are 4 types of phrasal verb found such
as Transitive and Separable phrasal verb and Intransitive and Inseparable phrasal
  verb. Several translation methods used in translating the phrasal verb such as Free
Translation, Idiomatic Translation and Communicative Translation. The translation
of subtitle in Forrest Gump film is identified as a faithful translation.

Abstrak

Tugas Akhir ini berjudul Analisis dalam Terjemahan Frasa Kata Kerja
yang ditemukan di Subtitle Film Forrest Gump. Tugas ini menggunakan teks
terjemahan film Forrest Gump yang merupakan sebuah film drama komedi dari
Amerika sebagai objek penelitiannya. Tugas ini bertujuan; untuk mengetahui frasa
kata kerja yang ditemukan di dialog pada subtitle, mengetahui metode terjemahan
yang dipakai dalam proses penerjemahan subtitle, mengetahui metode
penerjemahan yang paling banyak dipakai dalam proses penerjemahan dan
mengetahui kesamaan arti pada terjemahan di subtitle film Forrest Gump. Metode
penelitian kualitatif dengan analisis teks sebagai metode utama digunakan untuk
menemukan jawaban pada tugas ini. Tipe-tipe frasa kata kerja dan metode
penerjemahan diteliti dalam 139 frasa kata kerja yang ditemukan dan kesamaan
arti dari terjemahan diteliti pada 1490 baris terjemahan pada subtitle. Terdapat 4
tipe frasa kata kerja misalnya tipe frasa kata kerja yang transitif dan bisa
dipisahkan dan ada pula frasa kata kerja intransitif dan tidak bisa dipisahkan.
Beberapa metode penerjemahan yang digunakan adalah Metode Penerjemahan
Bebas, Metode Penerjemahan Idiomatis dan Metode Penerjemahan Komunikatif.
Terjemahan dalam subtitle film Forrest Gump diakui sebagai terjemahan yang
memiliki arti yang sama diantara bahasa sumber dan bahasa targetnya.
