Blind Girl:

From the story, I have learnt that we must always be grateful for the ones who stand by us
under trying circumstances. This is shown through the blind girl character. As an example, the
blind girl left her boyfriend after found out that he was blinded. After all the struggles they had
together, she would prefer not to be with him even though she knew how much her boyfriend
loved her. Besides, her boyfriend is willing to sacrifice his sight just to give his beloved girl an
opportunity to see the world. Everyone is born into the world in different circumstances. Some
people are born into wealthy families, while others are handicapped or parentless. But we cannot
use that justification to take advantage of others around us for our personal gain. If I were the
blind girl, I would never leave him because he was always there for her even in the darkest
hours.
Next, lesson that I learnt from the story is doing good deeds in silence cultivate a great
character. Nowadays, some people do good things for others to see how kind he or she is. It is
the deeds that matter, not the size of your audience. It can guide us to be a good person. This
could be seen through the sacrifice made by the blind girl’s boyfriend. After the blind girl told
him that she wanted to see the world, the man quickly donated his eyes without hesitation. He
did not even tell her girlfriend that he is the one who willing to give his own eyes. Although, the
girl left her after the operation, he did not mad but wrote a letter that ask the girl to take care of
his eyes. Obviously, we can see that the man did not hold any grudges towards the girl even
though he had sacrificed a lot of things for her. To conclude, the two lessons that I have learnt in
this story is we must always be grateful for the ones who stand by us under trying circumstances
and doing good deeds in silence cultivate a great character.
