The three pie charts depict the average proportions of different types of nutrients in four main meals in

the USA that may damage health if eaten excessively.


Overall, the distribution of sodium and saturated fat in meals are much the same to each other but added
sugar has divergent dispensation. Dinner and lunch indicate the highest percentages of sodium and
saturated fat while breakfast contributes the lowest figure for all three nutrients. Snack food contains the
largest amount of added sugar.
Looking at the data for breakfast, the ratio of sodium, saturated fat and added sugar are quite equal with
around 16%. Moving to the figure of dinner, food eaten in dinner is very high in sodium and saturated fat,
respectively 43% and 37% while sugar is just 23%. Regarding lunch, sodium is the highest figure with
29%, followed by 26% of dietary fat and nearly a fifth of sugar. In term of snacks, added sugar category
dominates the contribution of two counterparts with 42% and it is doubled the percentage of saturated fat,
sodium accounts for only 14%, which is similar to that of breakfast.
