 INTRODUCTION

We have made a Multipurpose rack, which is a piece of furniture with

horizontal shelves for storing anything desired, books, clothes , shoes etc. A
rack is a a framework, stand, or grating on or in which articles are placed.
 OBJECTIVE

To prepare a multipurpose rack for storing and organizing things or belongings

of all shapes and sizes but also can provide space for other items like picture

frames, decorations, etc.

 METHODOLOGY/PROCEDURE ADOPTED

We have first taken a thin wooden board and marked with the help of
try square/ steel ruler for cutting thin wooden strips. The strips are
filed in order to make its surface smooth. After that we cutted the
desired wooden strips using cross- cut saw. Sides of strips are made
smooth with the help of the filer and surfaces are checked for
squareness with Try square. Then we have placed the strips
accordingly to make a fine base structure and then joined them with
the help of nails using a ballpeen hammer.
 Learning and Experience during Activity done

• We have learnt a new experience of how things are made which

we use in our daily lives or use.

• We learned how to ideate and design a product that is useful as

well as sustainable at the same time.

• We learned how to use various equipments which came in use

while creating the wooden rack.

1. Space saver: These multipurpose furniture units not only save

space beautifully but also provide extra space to keep other furniture
units. Some bookracks fit under the staircase too to offer the great
utilisation and are perfect for small apartments.

2. Easy to access: Wooden racks s or other material shelves are easy

to access because of their flexible characteristic. Also, they come with
numerous shelves which allow you to arrange your collection in
whatever way you want.

3. Display your personality: These multipurpose racks are the best

furniture units to put the personality on display. They allow
showcasing the items that reflect interests and hobbies. You can also
narrow down your choices by taking into consideration the decor and
colour of the place where you are planning to put the shelf and the
number of items you need to display
