BRIEF HISTORY OF COMPANY

Our organization and its predecessors have
reach mining a geological history.
Before establishment of the organization in
years 1947 - 1961 there were realized by
using of state company Jachymovské doly
geological works for radioactive raw
materials.
On the 1st. of April 1961 the single Slovak
organization was created – Uránový prieskum,
organization IX Spišská Nová Ves, with head
office in Novoveská Huta. This organization was
directed by Uránový pries- kum (UP) in Příbram,
later UP Hamr na Jezeře and from year 1971 UP
Liberec.
Except performing of geological, survey
(uranium, copper) and mining works in whole
area of Slovakia, special attention was given to
area of Novoveská Huta, where the excavation of
pit number 3 was started on the 1st.of January
1962.
Branisko
From the 1st. of June 1991 the pe- riod of mining decline
came and this very strongly attached the activity
of company. The company started to find new areas of
activities. UP Liberec wasn’t any more the directional
organization for Slovakia and new state company
URANPRES štátny podnik (uranium survey and
ecological construction) Spišská Nová Ves was
established.
As legal successor by using the process of privatization
of URANPRES štátny podnik the URAN
