Mini project: Culture in language learning and teaching
Requirements:
1. 2-4 students in a group
2. Theme: discovering cultural differences in one particular aspect: ethnographic techniques in the classroom 3. Methodology: Interview with representatives of a given culture Analysis of a selected conversation or group discussion (see a lecture on discovering similarities and differences) Analysis of a chosen text, for example an add or a poster (see a lecture on visual literacy) 4. PPP should include: Introduction: background to the problem analysed Methodology: questions asked in an interview or Visuals on which the analysis was based or Samples of the conversation or Samples of language material compiled to conduct an analysis Results Conclusions 5. Duration of the presentation: about 20 minutes; number of slides : max 25
