(SEATWORK)

1. Identify all the business problems at McDonald’s.

 Seventeen McDonald’s workers sue the company, alleging the fast-food chain
has failed to address violence in the workplace.
 Its nationwide remodeling project that includes installing self-order kiosks and
digital menu boards and split counters that cause problem. Failed to design its
stores to minimize violence
 Allegedly accuse that failed to provide proper training to employees for how to
handle conflict in its restaurants.

2. What are your possible solutions to the identified problems?

For a short-term solution is they could compensate the affected employees for
the damage and trauma they experience. For a long-term solution they could do to this
problem they were facing is first they could re-design their remodeling projects to their
stores to address the complains and secure more the safety of their employee’s but
according to the given data it would be impossible because almost two thirds of the
locations were already renovated and it would cost them to much loss if it will be
renovated again. Second is to provide more training and policies protecting their
employee’s safety and implementing precautions to avoid any further events like this.

3. What is the best recommendation that you can advise to the management assuming
they hired you as consultant?

If they hired me as a consultant, I will advise them to study thoroughly every

project they will implement. They should think every scenario that might happen, could
happen and will definitely happen. They should look every angle of it, the cause and
effect it could give, the costumers possible responses, adjustment, adaptation and
reactions. They should not base only on the financial and aesthetics perspective but also
in terms of safety of their employees and costumers to avoid any serious problems in
the future.

Also providing trainings to the employees every time they add service or make
changes to the process or flow of the procedures on how they provide service especially
it is a fast-food chain were they interact to the costumers all the time. By doing this it
will avoid any problems regarding on costumer service because the employees are
trained to handle such conflict, they might face upon giving service.
