Calibration of Venturi-meter
Objective:
Determining 𝐶𝑑 “Discharge Coefficient” and the pressure loss of a venturi meter

Tools:
1. A venturi-meter
2. A bellow-meter
3. A differential manometer

Procedure:
1. Turn on the air supply
2. Adjust the control valve to a certain value of flow rate
3. Calculate the actual rate of flow using the measurements from the bellow meter and a stop watch
4. Record the differential height readings of the manometer
5. Repeat the previous steps for different values of flow by adjusting the valve
6. Plot the calibration curve
Some constant properties:
𝑑1 = 6.6𝑚𝑚 = 0.0066𝑚;
𝑑2 = 2.54𝑐𝑚 = 0.254𝑚
Working fluid: air; µ𝑎𝑖𝑟 = 1.85 ∗ 10−5 𝑃𝑎. 𝑠
ρ𝑎𝑖𝑟 = 1.2𝑘𝑔/𝑚3

Equations:
