EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The following report has been made over two software companies that are BariTechSol
and Nexus Corporation. BariTechSol is a software house company that is located in Karachi,
Pakistan. The firm was established in 2007, almost 22 years ago. The firm is certainly aimed at
developing and providing software related solutions to clients from all over the globe. It has
many services that include; web development, mobile app development, gaming app
development, custom software development, dedicated development teams, QA and testing and
so on. The company is one of the finest firms in doing what they do. They are one of the earliest
companies to be established in the software or BPO industry and have a great reputation
globally. Nexus Corporation is an information technology company which is also located in
Karachi, Pakistan. It was incorporated in the year 2008. Nexus Corporation is also rated among
good companies. Its main focus is to assist and provide solutions to clients locally, mainly for
start-ups, small scale enterprises, and entrepreneurs. Their domain is app and web development
only. Some of the products of Nexus Corporation include Moos N Clucks, GhoomCar, Drop
link, Drop a Truck, Hoora TV etc.

HISTORY AND INTRODUCTION

BariTechSol is a software house company that is located in the heart of Karachi; Shahrah-e-
Faisal, Pakistan. The company was established in 2007 to cater the needs of the local, as well as
the international IT market.

The company has been working effortlessly since the past 21 years as a BPO which provides
solutions to renowned enterprises with regards to software and software development.

Since the establishment, the company has delivered the utmost reliable outsourcing, offshoring &
.NET development solutions to its clients globally.

BariTechSol is a company that has very experienced and market-competitive skilled


professionals when it comes to dealing with IT Solutions, the clients and their complex queries.

BariTechSol provides a number of services regarding software that include; .NET Development,
Software outsourcing, Custom Software development, Database Development, QA and Testing,
Enterprise Software Development, Dedicated Development Teams, Web Development, Mobile

The role of HR Manager at BariTechSol has transformed drastically over the years. The HR
manager at BariTechSol is not just limited towards the recruitment or hiring of new employees
but much more. There are multiple roles the HR Manager of this firm has to perform and is
responsible for.

The HR Manager here is more focused towards business development and is oriented in the same
way. The HR Manager is more of a business developer here. Their job is to find ways and bring
improvement both internally and externally.

The HR Manager is also responsible for finding and introducing new positions and vacancies as
(i.e Job Analysis and Job
Descriptions). As per the manager, each of the functions and policies of HR are now considered
to be a whole domain individually. Such as the domain of performance management,
compensation management, employee legislation, training and development, discipline,
maintenance etc.

The HR Manager of BariTechsol who performs their role as a business developer too, focus on
how they can motivate their employees so as to achieve organization goals. They also look upon
those employees who are smart, creative and highly intelligent of how they can further assist and
groom them so that they can later climb up to the ladders of management and help in enhancing
the productivity of the organization.

If we talk about the recruitment process of BariTechSol, firstly a job requisition is given to the
HR Department from the senior management over which the senior management and HR

Department discuss the tasks, roles, responsibilities, wages, positions, etc regarding the
requisition. Once the JD has been made, then the HR department posts the job using several
mediums such as LinkedIn, Rozee.pk, Indeed etc. After Job Posting comes the process of
Resume Screening in which the organization filters out the best
towards their needs, following which they are called for an interview. Once the interviews have
been completed, the potential candidates are selected/hired and then called in for orientations.
The organization also occasionally allow walk-in interviews as well as internal recruitment.

NEXUS CORPORATION

In Nexus Corporation, just like any other traditional small-scale organization, the HR Manager is
mainly responsible for making policies which are responsible for structuring the entire
organization; May those policies be regarding the discipline, dress codes, attendance,
performance, annual leaves, and other benefits.

At Nexus Corporation, the HR Manager and His team are responsible for managing the
operations of all the departments. They are responsible for ensuring smooth and steady flow of
work across all the departments for better productivity. They are responsible for appraisals as
well. Apart from appraisals, they also look after the bonuses, incentives and other benefits of
employees, depending upon the performance of the employees at year end or on a monthly basis.

At Nexus, as far as the recruitment process is concerned, it is assisted by the HR Manager, but
the execution is performed by the HR Officers. The recruitment process at Nexus is based on 2 to
3 strategies. After going through all the phases such as Job Analysis and creating a JD, Nexus
Corporation recruits candidates traditionally; that is by posting job ads on the internet these days
which includes their website, Facebook, Indeed etc. The second strategy is recruiting internally
as well. The third strategy is to approach universities and higher institutions to hunt and look for
the candidates they need. This is also commonly known as talent hunt.

Once the company has a number of potential candidates, the executive of the HR department will
screen the resumes of the candidates. Screening of the candidate is mainly focused on the

experience, skillset, qualification, current & expected salary, notice period etc.
After being shortlisted through the screening process, the list then goes to the line manager for
his approval and then the candidate is invited over an interview. Interview panel consist of
mainly line & HR Manager, sometimes executives such as head of department as well. Once the
interviews have been completed, the successful ones are then selected and prepared for the
orientation process. Walk-in interviews are occasional at Nexus Corp.

PROBLEMS FACED BY HR IN BARITECHSOL AND NEXUS


CORPORATION

BariTechSol

At BariTechSol, just like any other well-known and large company, one of the most
significant challenge or problem is managing the human behavior perfectly. One of the most
critical and important roles of an HR Manager is to manage their employees and their
performances, as well as maintain the discipline of their organization.

Pakistan is a country with diversified people. People belonging to many different cultures,
traditions, ethnicities, religions, beliefs and backgrounds. BariTechSol is an organization that
welcomes people from all the backgrounds, following which it also becomes a greater of a
challenge to manage those people with different mindsets.

Sometimes the employees who are coming from other organizations who have had bad
experiences with regards to their management previously, seem too disturbed mentally, which
also significantly reflects upon their productivity later on. On the contrary, some employees who
have enjoyed a very friendly and lenient treatment previously behave abruptly when they are
asked to follow the instructions at a new place. All of these challenges are faced by an HR
Manager at large scale companies and BariTechSol as well. Where maintaining employee
behavior, expectations, emotional needs, and other needs shall be catered differently as every
human is of a different nature. Hence, every employee is a challenge.

NEXUS CORPORATION

Nexus Corporation, being a smaller firm on the other hand, faces other issues managing
their employees. Usually, there are not any significant or major issues faced by the firm currently
as the number of employees working with nexus is also small, but some issues which are of day
to day routine do take place either on or off work.

Some of the issues that are currently faced by the HR Department of Nexus Corporation are
inefficient productivity of their employees which is certainly due to the traditional or a little bit
of outdated technology that is being used in the organization. As most of the software houses in
Pakistan, may they be small-scale or large-scale are equipping the latest technology so as to
become more efficient and productive. This is somewhat key for their organization to focus on as
they are a software oriented company.

Some of the other issues faced by Nexus are late arrival of their employees. Sometimes, some
employees are subject to coming late which shows their commitment or seriousness towards
their work. There late arrivals do also largely contribute towards delays in work progress as well
as overall productivity of the firm. Whilst on the other hand, some employees are subject to take
uninformed offs round the month.

RELATE PROBLEMS WITH HR CONCEPTS

Human resource management is one of the most vital roles in a business enterprise. As it
is not only responsible for managing the operations at the workplace, but also to ensure safe and
sound environment of the organization, i.e the discipline, select the right candidates which will
help the organization grow and flourish, develop policies for the proper and professional
functioning of the firm, compensating the employees correctly, etc.

As per the problems or challenges that are faced by both BariTechSol as well as Nexus
Corporation which are aforementioned, we can clearly understand of how essential the role of an
HR Manager is. Being an HR Manager means to be very responsive towards the changes that
occur externally and be adaptive towards those changes internally as well so as to stay in the
market competition, whilst making your growth promising.

Managing employees and employee behavior, as well as catering their emotional and other needs
is one of the greatest challenge faced by larger corporations. Every human being is different from
one another on different grounds depending upon their beliefs, past experiences, or backgrounds.

from their clients, and ultimately poor stats. Laying off such employees is not a solution, but
bringing about change and developing or grooming such employees to perform to their
maximum capacities is what tells us about being a real HR Manager.

RECOMMENDATIONS TO SOLVING THOSE PROBLEMS
FACED BY BARITECHSOL & NEXUS CORP

In my opinion, BariTechSol shall bring innovation in their orientation process such as


promoting culture days, or allowing their employees from diverse background to showcase or
represent their traditional values as well. As this will help them develop a sense of respect not
just for themselves but other people of their backgrounds as well. This will significantly also
elevate their confidence level and improve their productivity and help them adapt to the

technologies and systems to boost their productivity. They shall also focus on making stricter
laws and policies and implementing them throughout the firm. They shall ensure that all
employees are law abiding. Nexus Corporation shall also carry out frequent training sessions for
their employees so as to polish them so as to compete with the market and help their organization
grow in a shorter span of time.
