LESSON PLAN in MATHEMATICS 6

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to;

Find the area of composite figures formed by any two or more of the
following: triangle, square, rectangle,circle and semi-circle.
II. A. Content Standards:
Demonstrate understanding of rate and speed, and of area and surface area
of plane and solid space figures.
B. Performance standards:
Is able to apply knowledge of speed, area and surface area of a plane and
solid/space figures in mathematical problems and in real-life situation.

A. Preliminary Activities:
1. Math song
2. Drill: Figures puzzle game
3. Review: Give the corresponding formula for each figure
B. Lesson Proper
1. Preparation:
Motivation: (show the facade of the house ). Tell to the class the name
of the different figures that can be seen in the house.
2. Presentation: What figures or shapes makes up a house?
a. Activating Prior Knowledge (APK) Analyze the figure and answer the
question that follows.
-- What do you think the total area of the square?
-- What do you the total area of the triangle?
-- What is the area of the two figures if combined?
