Beginning in 1960, British naturalist and


author Jane Goodall devoted herself to
observing the behavior of wild
chimpanzees in the Gombe Stream
Chimpanzee Reservein Tanzania. There,
Goodall made some startling discoveries.

Chimpanzees and Goodall


Goodall’s observations over several decades
support her belief that chimpanzees are
highly intelligent creatures capable of feeling
emotions and forming long-term
relationships. As a leading authority on
chimpanzee behavior, Goodall has written
dozens of books.

Author´s Purpose
To attract reader´s emotions in order to convince
the audience to change their perspective about
the testing on chimpanzees. The audience of this
essay is commonly researchers, scientists,
activists and people with a strong will.

What the author thinks


She thinks that personas that have a relation
with lab animals should know the animals, and
which is their behavior. She thinks chimps are so
similar to humans because they can have the
same emotions as us. She taught that animals
can communicate with humans.
