Characteristics
Beerenwachs is a pale wax derived from berry fruit peels of the Rhus Verniciflua tree native in China. Beerenwachs consists
of a high amount of glycerol ester of C16-18 fatty acid.
Application
Because a significant part of it melts at temperatures < 30 °C, Beerenwachs feels very silky and soft, comparable to a classic
emollient . In addition , it produces very soft textures and improves the sensory characteristics of O/W emulsions .
Additionally it is an excellent additive for oleogels , suitable for lip gloss formulations and mascaras , and works as an
outstanding pay-off enhancer in lipsticks. Although it is soft, Beerenwachs improves break resistance in pencil preparations.
