E = Excited
What excites you about these ideas? What’s the upside?
The ideas making me excited are about the goal of technology
literacy. Technology literacy will be developed in the entire
school community to help teachers and students to find the
proper technology ways to do the inquiry or complete the
projects. As we are living in the 21 st century, we are using the
technology methods everywhere to help us to solve the
problems or issues. Developing technology literacy is as
essential as other skills. That will help teachers and students
establish the awareness of using technology method to solve
the problem.
b. W = Worrisome
What do you find worrisome about these ideas? What’s the
downside?
When it comes to the technology literacy policies, it will be
helpful for the school community if the policies are reasonable
and aligned with the IB requirements. The policy maker
should also take school community, teachers, students, the
current conditions of technologies into consideration. The
policies need to be practical for teachers and students to
follow. In addition, the condition of technologies is very
different from schools and regions. All the policies should be
connected with the conditions of the school community or
region.
c. N = Need to Know
What else do you need to know or find out about these ideas?
What additional information would help you to evaluate
things?
As a teacher, we could guide our students to use technologies
and develop the ability to choose the right technologies at the
right moment to complete our projects. I’d like to know what
training is for teachers to improve ourselves’ technology
literacy and to guide our students to use technology properly
in the future. What’s more, how could we evaluate our
students’ technology literacy?
d. S = Stance or Suggestion for Moving Forward
What is your current stance or opinion on these ideas? How
might you move forward in your evaluation of these ideas?
Firstly, I think that developing the technology literacy is
important for school community, teachers and students to
perform well with the IB curriculum. The technology literacy
is as important as other skills or literacy. Secondly, developing
the technology literacy should be the responsibility of the
whole school community, leaders, teachers and students. The
training and guidelines are essential for all of us. We could
clearly know what we should do and how to do it properly.
Thirdly, I’d like to apply the ideas in our teaching and
learning, even our school community to identify whether they
are reasonable or not.
