Application & process: The vacuum shelf tray dryers are used to het and dry
material under the state of vacuum called vacuum drying and where difficulties
in drying materials due to high toxic contents, hygroscopic in nature, heat
sensitive. It is widely used in the pharmaceutical, herbal, chemical & foodstuff
company..

The vacuum shelf dryer is basically a tray dryer working under vacuum
conditions. Its use vacuum to pump air and humidity out from the closed heat
chamber due to vacuum making the chamber on the vacuum state thus
increased drying rate greatly and saved enegy. The boiling point of the material
to be brought down for drying and the entire system is in closed loops so, no
contamination occurs. The evaporation’s evolved during the drying process is
cooled down through a connected condenser and collected in receiver tank. The
vacuum shelf dryer when combined with solvent extraction system.ensures that
almost all of evaporating vapors is recovred and condensed in to a receiver.
Vacuum shelf dryer is closed chamber with heavy structure with air lock doors,
jacketed and insulated body. Inside chamber there are shelves for resting tray.
Shelves are manufactured in hollow construction with baffles cum stiffeners,
inlet and outlet nozzle. Hot media is passed through the inlet header to each
shelf, so heat surface, which in turn heats up trays placed on the shelves. The
hot media flows out from the shelves through the outlet header.

Pharmachem vacuum tray dryer is specially designed as per stringent cgmp

requirements. The dryer used for effective and economical drying of powder,
granules, ayurvedic product and chemical in conventional process.

Chamber : Made out in 6 mm thk stainless steel 316 plates, having necessary
supports & Reinforcements externally in mild steel. The open end is reinforced
with suitable stainless steel 304, 40mm x 40mm Flange/ skirting 3mm thick
welded all around for clean Room mounting front view. The Chamber rests on
stainless steel 304 Base.

Door : A door made from 08 mm thick stainless steel made from SS 316 plate
reinforced with a suitable 40mm/40mm flange. The outside of the door is
armoured with stiffeners, insulated with fiber glass-woll & protected with a
welded 2 mm thick stainless steel 304 materials cover.. the inside surface of
the door flange is grooved to accommodate an silicone rubber..

Hinges & Lock: Heavy Duty Specially Designed hinges & locking system
(I Bolt type) made out in AISI SS 304 for Vacuum Tray Dryer is provided.

Heating Shelves : Hollow Pads are with fully welded construction, each self is
Made out of 4mm thick stainless steel 316 sheet on top side and 3.2 mm thick
stainless steel sheet on bottom side. Fully welded on all joints and having an
annular space of aproximity 20mm stainless steel baffles are provided in
annular space to guide the flow of heating media to ensure full coverage of heat
transfer area & uniform heating. The shelves are fitted leaving space from the
wall of the chamber to enable ease of cleaning in addition to the number of the
operational shelves, one dummy shelf is provided at the top. This serves the
purpose of a baffles plate as well as prevents condensation from forming and
dripping into the tray on the shelf below. All shelves are connected with
manifold for recirculation of heating media hot water / plant steam

Headers : inlet and outlet headers are fitted outside the working space of
chamber of the dryer, the headers are made from stainless steel 304 materials
with all inlet & outlet connection flanges..

Condenser: shell & tube type, shell is stainless stell 316 and tubes are
stainless steel 316 seamless type tubes..
Receiver tank : vertical type tank made out of stainless steel 316 sheet, tank
provided with sight glass light glass. Arrangement to permint drainage of the
condensate is provided.

Surface Finish : the dryer externally is finished with 180 matt mirror finish
& internally all contact parts to be finished of 240 Gritt mirror finish.

Insulation : Rock wool insulation of 75 mm thick provided on chamber

externally, to avoid heat loss & is covered / cladded by AISI stainless steel
16swg thick Sheet. With 180gritt matt finish

Testing : the vacuum dryer shelves are hydro tested at 4kg/cm2 in assembled
condition. And the vacuum chamber is tested for leaks at a full vacuum 740mm
Hg & the acceptable leak rate is between 0.05 – 0.5mm Hg/minute

Performance : vacuum attained in the chamber will depend upon the type and
efficiency of the vacuum pump. The chamber is designed to withstand full
vacuum. The temperature attained in the shelves of the vacuum dryer will
depend upon the temperature of the heating media.

Trays : the trays are provided in option of SS 316 quality with 240 gritt mirror
finished. The trays are designed with all corners for easy cleaning.
