the country. Article 1, Section 3 of the RA 9163 states: ―It
is a program that aims at enhancing consciousness and
defense preparedness in the youth by developing the
ethics service and patriotism while undergoing training in
any of its three (3) program components. Its various
components are specially designed to enhance the youth’s
active contribution to the general welfare. Under the NSTP
Program, both male and female college students of any
baccalaureate degree course or technical vocational
course in public or private educational institutions are
obliged to undergo one of three program components for
an academic period of two semesters.
OBJECTIVES

The primary objective of the NSTP law is to

promote the role of the youth in nation-building.
As such, it aims to encourage the youth to
become civic and/or military leaders and
volunteers who could be called upon by the
nation in case their services are needed.

REFLECTION
of the
ACTIVITIES

I have learned many things in NSTP, and I have noticed that all of the learnings that
I have gathered are all life skills. These skills can be translated into helping the
community as well as giving way to younger generations. These challenges are to assure
me and my fellow students to help the community of people around us, as well as to
make the nation a much better place for all.

For example, in the tree planting activity , I realized the vital role of trees in the
environment. These trees are an essential part of the environment especially in the
Philippines where trees in a school environment are common. After that we proceed to
the next activity which is our first community service. Community service is one of the
most vital activities in our subject NSTP because this is one way of helping the nation.

The next activity is done inside the school campus, in which the instructor tells us
where we are assigned and what we are going to do in that specific area. I realized that
this promotes communication and teamwork in the class, which enables us to think
more actively and react to what is the best way to do the activity properly. Next is the
planting of snake trees and flowers, which for me is the easiest activity so far.

Now the next activity is painting the stone, this is good practice for we are upcoming
elementary teachers in the future, we must learn to know what is the best and safest way
to design tla garden. Painting the rock that surrounds our garden is one way of giving
design to the garden, as well as providing safety for our future students. This is because
a student may sometimes not notice a rock on the ground especially if it is dark
colored. The color white is the most visible of all the colors, therefore it is much more
easy to identify than those rocks which are not painted.

The last thing we did is similar to the first thing we did, in which we provide
community service in an area near the school. These learnings can not be measured, but
will be treasured in my mind, to ensure the Philippines will be great again.
Terrorists Awareness Seminar

This is where we held our seminar about terrorists. We discussed

about what terrorist are and what they do. This helps us to be aware
what will terrorist do, and whom are potential terrorists.
This is the time where we discussed
the importance and relevance of NSTP.
This is also the 1st online class we held
due to unforeseen circumstances. I
learned what NSTP is all about and
what CWTS is all about.
