SUCCESS CRITERIA By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. answer at least 6 out of 8 questions correctly (Worksheet 1).
2. get at least 5 points when playing Cup Pong.
3. write a short essay with at least 6 sentences by using future form will
(Worksheet 2A).
4. fill in at least 3 out of 4 blanks correctly and write two additional
sentences with the word will (Worksheet 2B).

DIFFERENTIATION Differentiate by the task pupils are given:


STRATEGIES Lower proficiency students receive Worksheet 2B where they need to fill in
the blank and only write two sentences on their own.

PRE-STAGE 1. Students answer six questions on Wordwall as a class.

ACTIVITY 2 – CUP PONG (15 minutes)


1. Teacher assigns students into 4 groups.
2. Each group stands at one side of a table (two groups per table).
3. Teacher explains the rules of the games (Powerpoint slide 4).
4. All groups rearrange the cup according in the shape of a triangle.
5. Each group takes turn to play.
6. The group with the highest points win.

ACTIVITY 3 (15 minutes)


1. Students receive Worksheet 2A (higher proficiency) and Worksheet 2B
(lower proficiency).
2. Teacher explains the task (Powerpoint slide 5) and that students may use
the list of words to write their essay (Powerpoint slide 6).
3. Students complete their worksheets.

POST-STAGE 1. The chosen students share their answers for Worksheet 2 with the class
(10 minutes) (verbally).
2. Students recap the lesson.
3. Students submit Worksheet 2 for checking.

In my opinion, life in the future will be very different. Houses will be more efficient because
they will have solar panels and all electrical appliances will use solar energy. Refrigerators will talk to
people and tell them what temperature to store the food at.

Everyone will have robots at home. The robots will do a lot of things around the house. They
will clean the house, go shopping when the refrigerator tells them to, help look after the children, and
drive the parents to their workplace.

Every person in a house will own a computer. Students won’t go to school anymore. Instead,
they will stay at home with a virtual teacher. They will have lessons on their computers every day
except on weekends. There will be no televisions as everyone will watch movies on their computers.
There will be no arguments in houses if people want to watch different programs at the same time.

I think that people will have more free time. They will travel more, but they won’t travel by
cars. Everyone will use electric buses and trains with robot drivers. I think that people will go on
holiday to the moon in space rockets. They will travel to other planets too. Space tourism will be the
most popular type of holiday in the future.
