EXERCISE 1

Listen to an interview with Jane Turner about part of her job. Decide if each sentence is TRUE or FALSE

1F Jane Turner’s main job is as a web designer.

(Today, I’m talking to Jane Turner, a teacher at King’s School/ As well as teaching, Jane has another job that she does
at the school.)

2T She also creates an online magazine for the school’s ex-students.

(I think it’s very interesting/ I produce an online magazine for the school’s ex-students, people who used to study at the
school.)

3T The magazine comes out twice a year.

(How often do the students get the magazine?/ We write one every six months, so that’s twice a years.)

4T Two extra people will help with the next issue.

(Do you do all the work on the website yourself?/Oh no! Four of us work on it regularly but I must say that it get more
and more difficult to finish the magazine on time/ Luckily, we get to extra people to help with next issue.)

(The old students love to get news about their old friends/ and teachers/ and they send in letters about their own work
and careers too.)

EXERCISE 4
Listen to 4 advertisements. What jobs are advertised?

A Lifeguard (we’re looking for lifeguard for a busy summer season is necessary)
( strong swimmer/ a good communicator/ and would like a challenge /we're looking for lifeguard for a busy summer
season/ no experience is necessary as you two weeks of training before you start the job as well as being physically fit
you need to be available for work Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.)

B Shop Assistant (we’re looking for a shop assistant for a busy gift shop)

find it difficult to talk to people he doesn't know / he likes working with his hands and is very neat and tidy)
