Camila: Good evening po ma'am Shujen. Okay lang po ba na mainterview kayo? I am 3rd year
Nursing student at Phinma Araullo University po and we have assignment in our Community
Health Nursing-RLE subject, and I was assigned to interview a nurse working in Public Health
Pwede kopo ba kayo mainterview? May isesend po akong question
dito. Thankyou po.
Nurse Shujen: Sure go lang.
Camila: How do you feel about being Registered Nurse here in the philippines? And do you have
plan to work abroad?
Nurse Shujen: Being a regsitered nurse is one of the most challenging jobs but it is also a
fulfilling job because at the end of the day it will always be worth it and rewarding knowing,
working here as nurse is not easy and quite challenging because they see nurse as ‘yaya’ or
‘utusan ng doctor’ they treated us like that, we are not treated right here in our country, salary
wise our profession has the lowest rates/salary that cannot support our families well. Yes, I have
plans going abroad because Practically the reason is to provide more for my parents needs.
Camila: Have you faced any problem with being a nurse? How do you handle it?
Nurse Shujen: Yes, of course. Specially during the first wave of pandemic. Their was that time
that I don’t want to get up and go to work because I feel so tired and burnout. It was the time that
I was asking myself why I chose to become a nurse, my feeling is that I am not fit being a nurse
because it was and I was about to give up as a nurse but then I realized where and why I started. I
always go back to that question to motivate and handle those difficult times I encounter in my
daily living. At the end of the they I will always chose my profession and I will always commit
myself to everything because seeing my patients get well is the most rewarding part of who I am
as nurse.
Camila: For you, what is the most common health issue that our society has? What do you think
are the possible solutions that you may contribute to solving it?
Nurse Shujen: Health issue? I think mental health problem. I think the solution would be talk to
our friends relatives or loved ones once in a while. Even they look okay we don’t even know
what they really feel so I think let’s make it a habit to ask someone if how are they doing or just
simple make them feel they are worth it.
Camila: What is your definition in the term "HEALTH"?
Nurse Shujen: Primary need, if we maintain good health both physical, mentally and emotionally
everything else follows. Health is important because you can’t survive without good health.
Camila: What are your opinions in focus of community Healthcare Nursing?
Nurse Shujen: CHN is also important because it will help those people specially those who are
far from hospital facilities, it will help them to provide a healthy lifestyle, prevent future disease
and other health problems that may occur.
Nurse Shujen: Hahah. Di ko sure yan last. Sorry.
Nurse Shujen:Drained na from work
Camila:Okay lang po ate sobrang thankyou po sa time niyo. Sobrang big help napo yun for me as
a student nurse po.
Nurse Shujen: Sure no probs. Ikaw na bahala edit. Hahaha
