Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity
A. Preparation

Good morning, class! Good morning, Sir!

Kindly stand for our opening prayer. May I
call on a volunteer to lead us a prayer? (The prayer leader will lead a prayer.)
Monitors. (The monitors will report the attendance for
the day.)
Before you take your sit, kindly pick up small
pieces of dirt under your chairs and make
sure that your chairs are aligned to each
other.

Review
Before you have your remedial quiz, let’s have
the review first.

(The teacher will lead the review and solve

their common mistakes during the quiz)
B. Presentation
Kindly keep your notes inside your bags and
put your bags under or beside your chairs.
Let’s begin your quiz.
(The teacher will distribute the quiz papers.)
(See Attachment 2.1-Quiz on Radical
Equations)
Your remedial quiz will be parallel to your
quiz last Monday.
For part 1, you are are going to simplify each
radical expressions in the simplest form.
You have the three rules in simplifying
radical expressions, right?
Part 1 is two points each.
The second part of your quiz is all about
operations on radicals. You must apply the
appropriate rule so that you will be able to
answer it correctly. The number of points is
stated in your quiz papers.
And for the last part of your quiz is problem
solving. For problem solving item number
1, you need to translate the mathematical
statement into mathematical symbols so that
you can find what is required. That is
equivalent to four points.
And for the second item, you will use the
GRESA method in solving the problems.
The second item is equivalent to 6 points.
You write your complete solution beside each
item. If you have questions, ask it directly to
me and not to your seatmates. Kindly work
independently.

I will collect your papers 5 minutes before the

time.
Before you begin may I leave you a message
from the bible.
CVI: Psalm 13: 11 states that “Wealth gained
by dishonesty will be diminished, but he
who gathers by labor will increase.”
You may now begin. Happy Solving!
C. Practice
(See Attachment 2.1-Quiz on Radical
Equations for Remedial Class)
You have 45 minutes to finish your quiz.

If you are already done, you may pass your

papers to me and please don’t disturb your
classmates.

Time’s up! Kindly pass your papers forward.

D. Purposeful Closure

Is your quiz easier now? Yes, sir.

That’s because you have understood the rules
and you removed the anxiety towards the
big numbers.

Most of the items in your first quiz are easy.

You we’re just careless and you were
intimidated of the large numbers. In solving
math problems, we should also apply the rule
in military which is to “Obey first before you
complain!”
You have lot of complains and those
complains manifest that you are
underestimating yourself.
You can do it if you believe in yourself. And
you must also remember that “We can do all
things through Christ who strengthens us” –
Philippians 4:13

Let’s stand and let’s have the prayer

Let’s call it a day. Good bye class!
